So you’re writing off Fleury as garbage after 13 games, and he hasn’t been completely awful.
No, I'm saying that I'm glad we dodged that bullet.

Why do people constantly paraphrase and misrepresent to do what . . . win an imaginary argument?!?

Fleury would have cost more, come with more risk, and he been average to awful at times. The goal he let in against Aston-Reese was a bad minor league hockey goal, forget about the NHL. He was awful against us, and I heard it's not the first time.

Glad we dodged that bullet.

No. I don't think I'm rocking the boat too much.

I don't need to do the research on 3/4 goalies in the league. I can use the team statistics:

Toronto Maple Leafs after 22 games played so far:

Kallgren: 9 games played .891 SV%
Samsonov: 8 games played .921 SV%
Murray: 6 games played .921 SV%

Kallgren: 41% of the load
Samsonov: 36% of the load
Murray: 27% of the load

So forgive me if I don't paint a pretty picture of our goalie situation (injured goalies/3rd string goalie who's not great).

BTW Murray didn't exactly set the world on fire today.

3 goals against on 28 shots (.893 SV%)
I hope you saw the game tonight. Kallgren played pretty well for a 3/4th stringer eh?

You are trolling. Just stop. Who cares what I think! Just live with it.
Trolling? Really?

Aw I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings dude. Spew less nonsense, then you won't get called out on it so much. And when you do, take with good humour, that would be my advice to you. And I do hope you were able to enjoy the game, even if Kallgren made you look a bit silly. Cheers!

if u remove overtimes he has better underlying numbers than some starters and almost all backups. hes pretty good.

leafs nation just always needs a wiping boy at all times.
first murray, then marner, then holl ... blah blah

Here's my advice:

Don't eat yellow snow.

The season is early! That being said I am a little more impressed than I expected to be so far. You have to give credit where it is due.

I know! The Goalies are starting to really come together a do great job. Full credit! I am so glad it's working out. (Knock on wood)

still only november. don't want to get ahead of myself.

but if murray and samsonov can play at the level they've shown they can and can stay healthy... we're looking good.
For sure, they have been way better than I think anybody in the league expected them to be.

How much of this is Curtis Sanford do you think?
I think that Sanford deserves at least some of the credit. Good to have previous NHL experience in the role through someone who had his moments of quality as a secondary option in goal.

Kallgren was solid tonight however I have seen a few posters on here blame him for multiple points lost so far this season. Murray and Samsonov have provided solid tending when they have been in the net however both players have gone down with injuries already this season. Their MO has been injury concerns and inconsistent goaltending in their careers.....my issues is knowing this, why wasn't a veteran goalie brought in in the off-season to be the 3rd goalie and an insurance policy when almost assuredly one of the top 2 goalies were injured (so far this season - both injured at same time)?

It's not a big deal that we've lost some points because Kallgren was our goalie for some time this season, he is our 3rd goalie after all. At the end of the day, he did his job well and has shown he belongs in the league. I suspect we'll trade him once Samsonov is back. Doubt he'll clear waivers at this point.

And have the vet goalie sitting in the pressbox or maybe play in the minors? In which case you are talking about a Michael Hutchison type & you know what you are getting there.

Here's my advice:

Don't eat yellow snow.
Adults don't eat snow no matter what color it is and when you grow up, you probably won't either

Kallgren's SV% is .898 and rising, how much better do you think a teams 3rd string goalie needs to be?

Based on your constant wining and expecting everyone to conform to your idealism/cheerleader thrust I would imagine you're barely an adult.

At least the emotional maturity is quite stunted.

If that's how you've understood my posts then I suggest you work on your reading comprehension.

If you want to portray yourself ad an adult, your "yellow snow" comment didn't help.

I believe the word you're looking for is "whining", not "wining".

goaltending - including Kallgren - has been as good as we could have hopped for heading into the season. They've been giving us a chance to win and if anything its the offence that's been slightly underwhelming.

Not sure why some folks are so down on Kallgren. Considering his experience, how we've played in front of him, and expectations of a 3rd goalie, I think he's done what was asked of him.

My dislike of the Murray trade was based on his injury history and that Dubas did not make a good deal to get him. It was a disappointing trade where we had all the leverage. Sens should have retained more with picks, or included higher picks than the 3rd and 7th if just retaining 25%.

I am a Leaf fan first, so it's nice to see our goalies playing well. Saying that, we've seen this show many times before, and the Stanley Cup isn't given out in November.

Let's see where they are in April and what they do in the Playoffs.

I think Kallgren has improved since playing in the NHL and when he gets back to the AHL he will be the Marlies best goalie. Woll and Petruzzelli can battle it out and the loser wins a position in Newfoundland. Very happy with Murray and Samsonov so far. Well done Dubas. What I figured would be a weak spot is now looking fine.
