Not a big fan of it. I mean, the Canadian flag works because it's red and all, but I think a blue patch on a red-based jersey looks kind of out of place and awkward. It was done in good faith, so I can respect that.
I know I'm in the minority, but I really like the flags. I know they really don't have a place on the jerseys, but I appreciate that they're there to represent our province or country.
You know what's funny? The red is actually the same on the throwbacks as they are the regular jerseys. It's the yellow and black that make it look different. I didn't believe it either until I put the reds next to each other on the two jerseys.
I've never understood why they have the flag of Alberta there. There's another team in Alberta. Would San Jose, Anaheim or LA do something related to California? Would the Panthers or Lightning do something related to Florida? Columbus and Arizona/Phoenix (since they were mentioned) are different since they're the only teams in their state. The Flames one just seems poorly thought out.
