Canada has been in all finals but one since 2015. Russia hasn't made a single final after 2015.

You've confused Slovenia for Latvia because Slovenia isn't even an Elite division country anymore.

No. I included Slovenia because, TBH, I wasn't sure if they were associated with Slovakia. In other words, it's was just me being a dummy.
Well since Russia won the worlds in 2014 only 3 countries have won it Canada (4) and Sweden and Finland (2) with one year lost to COVID.
That being said, silver and bronze has a bigger mix with the German and Swiss sides winning a silver along with Russia, Canada, Finland. And Russia has 4 Bronze, the US 3, and the Czechs and Latvia 1each.
But ya the US teams never seem to get over the hurdle to win a gold that often people think they will before the tourney starts.

This is pretty much it (minus Slovenia, but including Latvia).
Any of Canada, USA, Finland, Sweden, or Russia could win a WJC/WC/Olympics and I wouldn't be surprised. Everyone is good enough to win.
Czechia was there for 15 years and looks like they may be rejoining the group. Germany may join soon too.
The Americans continue to choke at the World Championship, but they are absolutely good enough to have a gold medal calibre roster every year.

Am i missing something? World championship rosters arent even best on best anymore are we really bragging about medal wins in those?

Yes you're missing the fact that the IIHF WC is the ONLY senior level tournament we have. The reality is that it takes depth to win this, it's a testament to the overall ability and the health of your program if you're able to win this tournament with regularity. These medals absolutely have merit in the era we are in.

Canada wins and non Canadian posters scoff saying, ‘Canada has better players and more depth than anyone, so please don’t act like it's a big surprise when you win”.
So then a Canadian says, “Canada is king of the hockey world”, and posters say, “Don’t let it go to your head, you are no longer the best, lots of teams can beat you”.
We can’t win.

Reigning best on best, U20 and Skoda champs is another readily available response.lol.
Czech Republic won silver last year. They were arguably the best team in the tournament.

Exactly............and it covers so many other topics regarding international hockey with Canada too.
I think so many fans need to see a therapist concerning us, they've just lost all ability to reason when it comes to Canada.
