I think they have of good chance of ending up a wild card... If my Canes had started Kochetkov tonight wouldn't have been close.
this makes no sense

Raanta was coming from two SO in a row, who's to say Kochetkov wouldn't have shit the bad too? Canes played much better just like the Devils did when they lost 4-1 despite outshooting Carolina 38-20...

Devils are on a terrible streak, shooting cold as ice and finding new ways to lose games while the Canes are hot shit right now

I am actually a Devils fan somewhat as I grew up a fan of Brodeur (Largest part of my merch is Brodeur) and Elias was my favorite player after Sakic retired.

The complete arrogance of Devils fans to start the year when their team hadn't proved anything is why so many are relishing in their struggles now. Now they join the Buffalo and Habs fan clubs who learned the hard way that a good first month of a season doesn't mean anything because real hockey doesn't start until December at the earliest.

I wouldn't be upset to see them make the playoff thoug

Arrogance to start the year without proving anything? Where have I heard that before? Oh yeah, from you and most Leaf fans

That’s not how seasons work.
I’m not saying it’ll happen as I do think NJ still makes the playoffs, but what’s the longest winning streak a team has had and still not made the playoffs? I would imagine 13 is up there no?

lol? Leaf fans have been burning down their city for at last 2 years. You see what you want to see. Literally Leaf fans have had a top 5 teams for 2 seasons and you wouldn't know it because we only care about the playoffs.

Also, fans are allowed to cheer for their favorite team. That isn't arrogance it's being a fan.

No team trying to win needs advice from the Leafs...Thanks though.

I think Buffalo had a streak of +10 wins a few years ago and missed POs.

Raanta shut out two of the worst teams in the NHL, and played five games in nine days... He's been a wildly inconsistent sub .900 goalie all season.

I think they're going to be fine. They weren't a true talent President's Trophy team to begin with.

During the "worst" of this stretch, they weren't even playing badly. Just fell on the wrong side of some results. Really they probably should've been around .500ish with some average luck.

You could look at them as .500 over their last 5, against very solid opponents. With some better health, they'll pull up.

Devils still played well during the losing streak. Outshot and / or outplayed the other team most of the time . They never have been blown out and dominated at any point this year. If you take way empty net goals against , they are mainly 1 goal losses. They seem to always shut down the other teams top players better than most teams. They just couldn’t get any timely goals or finish on glorious chances.
They played well against the two Boston games and Canes game, I can see them bounce back here and start a new winning streak.
Im not saying they will win the Metro or anything , the Canes are just too good. But I think we still make the playoffs.

Per the rules of hfboard, freeshot against toronto are allowed and even considered good taste.

You are a veteran poster, am sure you know that

My mistake good sir.

Hockey virus, with this line, with no sense of irony.... it's gunna be a great year.

Fair I deserve to take my share of crap. It's part of the chirping game. Usually though my opinions are based on something and not on made up events like posts that do not exist.
