every other team's tough guy is looking for him every night... if Arbs even makes a clean hit he's a target. Would be nice if we could dump a couple of these panzies around him and have some other 'men' to help him out since Edmundson, Savard and the rest have turned into total wussies.

Sadly, you can now add Anderson and Pezzetta to that list. And it'll cost Pezz his roster spot in time.

Savard was very good for a few games early on, but has been awful for the last half dozen or so.
Trade Eddy to a team that needs a big, experienced defenceman for a return we like, and have Matheson replace Wideman from the initial pairings to start the season. That is an upgrade for sure.

This will allow Savard to log fewer minutes and poerhaps improve his effectiveness again.

Matheson-Xhekaj
Guhle-Savard
Harris-Kovacevic

Hopefully by next year sometime, Kovacevic can develop to replace Savard as the big defensive RD, and we bring on a new Offensive-minded RD, whether from the prospect pool, UFA or trade.

I'm all for moving Edmunson, and Savard for that matter if there is a market. Wideman, I think, we are stuck with. Might be easier to move than a Drouin or Dadonov though.

Just go all in on the kids.

EDIT: Edmunson and Savard I would categorize like Monahan; move if the price is good, and keep if not.

No more games without X, brings a totally different attitude to the team, do you really want Guhle taking on the Riff-Raff? Also about him losing his scrap to Deslories, anyone who claims they never lost a fight is either a liar or has never been in a real fight! It happens people no matter how big and bad you may think you are!

This kid can’t sit.

DLo has lost many fights and is considered maybe a top 5. It happens.

Just wondering what everyone will do if he doesn't play tonight? Will there be riots in the streets? 😆😆
It's pretty obvious he will play..
Just for the mere fact we got tanked 7-2 last night and coaches make changes after losses ANYway
Not to mention the fact it's a back to back for a team with 8 D..
THEN you can bring up the lack of physicality factor... so yeah
Odds are.

Regrettably, the more Edmundson plays, the lower his trade value becomes. He's a virtual turn over machine. Probably one of the most overrated players on the team.

I imagine MSL has his reasons for having him sit last night, i agree he has been a very impactful player with his physical abilities but possibly they are trying to reign him in a bit, I don't think it has anything to do with vets or contracts just what is generally best for the players development.

very true, its like the entire team went to a 'feelings' seminar and Arbs/Guhle missed the memo. Two kids, he and Guhle, the only two guys willing to make a hit and drop the gloves lol. If that isn't a brutal roster, what is? Is management paying attention? Hey Pez, Anderson... care to chip in besides hits from behind?

Yeah
He's a keeper
You need to trade a vet inside of this year to make a permanent spot for this kid is how integral he is to the future of the D corps
He's not the answer, but he's a huge piece for the backend moving forward, pun intended

Dumb penalties can subside, but this kid is f***ing producing lol it makes no sense for a 0 AHL exp rookie lol

Unfortunately Pezz now reminds me of Zigamanis from the Leafs around a decade ago. Came up got into a few scraps got a protein drink commercial, scored a goal or 2 and seemed to think he was Darryl Sittler! Nosedived after that!

Physical presence aside, Xhekaj could finish the season anywhere between 20 to 30 points.

There is absolutely no reason, if he's healthy, to scratch him.

Xhekaj plays with a remarkable level of calmness and poise with the puck for a player of such limited experience. He makes excellent outlet passes; sees the ice well that allows him to play on the second power play and has an excellent wrist shot from the point. The fact that this young defenceman brings a menacing physical presence is just a bonus. This kid is here to stay.
