Love to see a player invited to camp and earn a contract. Well deserved and hope he continues his growth. really liked what I saw from him and he stood out.

congrats to him on earning a contract. Though now if Norlinder is sent back to Sweden the Habs will only be able to go to 48 contracts. Assuming Guhle goes back to the WHL, we would be at 47 contracts so not much room.

It is a way to think about it, though. Xhekaj over Ruscheinski (also runs for cover for bringing up he who shall not be named).

Junior teams are allowed to carry 3 overagers. Kitchener's GM confirms that Xhekaj will be one of them.
Saw on the Rangers board he might be named captain now that he is returning, but a lock for a letter for sure
Considering he would've missed a lot of playing time due to recent circumstances a year of being an overager and getting top minutes is probably the best bet for his development.

He is, but he didn't play at all last year due to Covid and Laval is loaded on D. It's much better for him to do an overage year in OHL and get a lot of playing time rather than being another part on an over crowded D unit in Laval.
All round good decision to sign him & send him to OHL. Gives us another good D prospect. Great find by Montreal.

Hopefully he stays clear from Kitchener Leslie.
That new paycheque should help him steer clear of any Kitchener railroads or illicit activities under the Queensboro bridge.
