Ah, now I see what you mean. Well, that's assuming they don't extend him before he becomes RFA. I think they will. And I think Arber wants to stay.
Im saying they dont get him on the cheap, and also factoring being sent to the minors and what he is hearing from his agent(?). I also would like to keep him but if other teams offered a first when he was in the minors. If I was Arber, Adios take the money and run. Barron was sent down kovi gets limited playing time and I think two defensive players from minors make next years team.

Gorton said that he wanted to spread some playing time around, and Barron was a guy that didn't need to clear waivers and that's why the sent him down. So if we're going to speculate, maybe the reason they did it was to showcase Kovacevic for a TDL deal. And besides, both of those guys are RD.

I love Xhekaj, he's my kind of player for many reasons, but he's not in the biggest bargaining position at this point with the Habs. If another team wants to overpay for him (which I'm skeptical), then we have to let him walk. We're loaded at LD. So we're not going to be held hostage by Arber Xhekaj. All, IMO, of course.

The kid is completely discombobulated. I think leaving him in Laval would have been the smart choice.
He doesn't remotely resemble the player from last season.
Overconfident. Last year went to his head I think. He came in humble, left king of the city. He needs to go back to his simple game and improve his defense.

He has tremendous potential, but I'm not sure Montreal is the best city for him. Time will tell.

MSL doesn’t like Xhekaj. Go f*** yourself. It’s obvious that Xhekaj is not confident and try to change his game for the coach.

MSL said he doesnt like X penalties. But doesnt talk about his golden boy Struble’s penalty that lead to a goal or Gallagher’s lol. f*** you St louis. Can’t wait to have a real coach and not just a puppet.

To have icetime, you have to come from a Boston university or be friends with the Boss’s sons.

I like the kid. Very much. I would not trade him unless it's part of a major return. But you don't trade what you don't have. And that kind of player, we don't have. Just need to fix his breakdowns. And stop trying to be fancy. His first penalty, was him thinking he was still in Laval.

You can tell that MSL is not a fan. Xhekaj has been neutered and it sucks to watch.
I hope they keep working with him but I have serious doubts if he even makes it past the TDL.

I find him and Barron have the same issue where they have trouble of making a quick play when handling pucks along the wall in the d-zone. That fraction of a second too long puts them into trouble. They either lose the puck or end up making a bad pass to get out of trouble.

He has all the tools to be a force though. Just needs to make quicker, more confident decisions with the puck.

I hope you’re right that they won’t trade him, because that’s the first time i’m actually scare they will.

They're not trading him - they are just trying to get him to not take a bunch of stupid penalties. I don't think he gets benched if his penalties were him being physical, but lazy high sticking penalties and stick infractions are things you can't do especially if its been something you've been told to work on.

He will be fine - plenty of time to figure it out.

Yeah, might as well let him stay in a more positive situation in Laval. No use messing with his head, he's just not comfortable right now, you can really tell.

MSL mind games are working on the kid. I really don't like the call on his second penalty, players were hitting away from the puck all night and he gets the call.

Exactly this.
When Arber takes a penalty it has to be either saving a goal or sending a message.
