Love the kid!

But, if he wants to be a feared tough guy he really needs to work on his balance. It's not easy fighting on skates. You often use your arms for balance, so when you swing wildly it can definitely send you flying backwards.

Being able to stand on blades and swing is not easy. He needs to work on core strength & his lower body strength.

I love how quick he is to protect Slafkovsky. They seem to be developing a terrific friendship.

Glad Reeves was traded to Minnesota. We've completed our home and home with them, while we've yet to face NYR.

Balance will come with experience and strenght.

Believe it or not, but he doesn’t have his man-strenght yet. Pretty scary.

It's not only his balance, he tried to pull down his opponent like he did Kassian and it's failed a few times now.

It’s Trouba and Slaf I’m worried about. It would probably help Slaf if the next time someone tries to run him he doesn’t get decked and instead gets suspended for elbowing or retaliating.

In Friedman's 32 thoughts he states they're working on a piece for Xhekaj. I'm pretty sure it's through sportsnet.

32Thoughts said:
15. We’re preparing a feature on Montreal’s Arber Xhekaj, and what really stood out is how the other Canadiens spoke about him. The fans love the physical play, but the team went out of its way to praise almost everything else. Head coach Martin St. Louis: “He can break out the puck, it allows us to play with possession and transition through the neutral zone. Can he go off the glass? Absolutely, but he’s got high intelligence with a good skillset that allows him to do what his brain is telling him to do. His brain’s pretty creative.”

St. Louis credited Xhekaj with adjusting his shot after it wasn’t getting through earlier in the season, saying the defenceman has a “nice little snapper … heavy, comes off his blade quick.” Brendan Gallagher said the veterans heard about the fights from rookie camp, but added, “If you can do that, but can’t play the game, you’re not going to last very long. There’s only so many guys in the league who can do what he does, but in order to do that, there’s so much more that has to go into your game. He’s able to do that to play at this level.”

It meant a lot to Xhekaj. “It’s pretty special to hear that,” he said. “Everyone always used to say when I was younger that, ‘You’re a goon, you’re a goon,’ and I’m like, ‘I’m not a goon. I’ve got good hands, I make pretty good breakout passes ... I’ve got a pretty good shot from the point.’ I’ve always known.” He said it meant a lot to him that he’s seen some second power-play time, because it never really happened before.

16. True to form, Gallagher couldn’t give too many compliments without a verbal jab, saying Montreal’s rookies are not very bright. Who’s the least brightest? “All of them.”

Third Highest scoring Dman on the team, +- 0 , has a seat for the PP when Wideman makes an appearance every 5th game LOL. What a weird coaching staff we have. Its not like we are bringing in Mathew Schneider, its Wideman lol. That drop-pass Wideman brings from the bleachers, and his gold chain, they are both legendary

He's a total putz, is he still working at McDonalds in his spare time or am I thinking of someone else?

Tanner Howe is going to be a stud too save a tank for that kid
LOL ! Laraque is a vegan and has enough money... The guy you are thinking about is Brashear. I dunno what's up with him, but at some point Sévigny, one of his ex-teamates, gave himm a job at his Tim Horton around Quebec City.

He is everyone’s darling, that’s for sure. I don’t particularly care about his short comings as a coach. Habs need to tank. But sitting Xhekaj in favour of Wideman - that’s where I draw the line. That’s where he is getting into Therrien category for me. Not impressed.

really makes you wonder who's pulling the coaching strings. If its Marty, I'm also getting disgusted in a lot of his moves out there. I am really hoping its Hugo making the lineup moves etc, and dressing these awful vets at the expense of the kids.. because Marty can't be this dumb.. has to be management. Right? Tell me we don't have Therrien 2.0 running the bench?

I completely disagree. Xhekaj > Wideman. There cannot be any way to see it any different. You play your better players.
A lot might be going on that we don't know about.

MSL might be trying to maintain Wideman's trade value, or Xhekaj night have small micro-injuries here and there that we don't know about, or he wants to keep the young players hungry, or many other things.

We can trust --- or dismiss -- MSL based on the big picture. Don't micro-nitpick individual decisions.

This forum would cease to exist if we didn't micro-nitpick on every individual decision.
