BEST IN SHOW

1683691846119.png

Buddy Holly the Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen has been named best in show at the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show. He’s the first of his breed to win the top prize at the prestigious dog show.

The PBGV, who earlier in the day won the hound group, charmed judges with his confidence and calm demeanor.

Westminster is one of the oldest sporting events in the US, second only to the Kentucky Derby. Since 1877 – before the American Kennel Club even existed – canines from the frequently winning wire fox terrier and prissy poodle to the bug-eyed boxer and devoted Doberman have vied for best in show.

It depends on what day you ask. Also the time of day, what the weather is, and whether I've had any chocolate.

Seriously.

Most days I want to stay in bed but I drag myself out and go to work. And church. Stay busy.

I want to get another dog but no prospects on the immediate horizon.

Just finished the claim forms for the 47-year-old life insurance policy on my mom. It's not a lot, as insurance goes, but better than nothing. Still rather have my mom though

And of course right now my Facebook memories are showing me all my old mother's day posts....

Anyhoo.... ultimately I'm fine.

Thanks for asking :)
Oceans of Love and Blessings....

I've been thinking on and off for a while about getting a smoker but have so far balked at forking out the cash - in Australia at least they are not cheap. Which size Weber do you have? I'm curious as to how much you can realistically cook at once with the smaller models.
I have the middle size of the Weber Smokey mountain. It’s so easy to use, it really dumbs it down. The one thing I wish is that we got the largest as it’s a good size but not large enough for my liking. But in reality, we’ve cooked two full racks of st Louis style ribs, two full chickens and a dozen sausage in one shot. The Weber has multiple racks so you can stack things. It’s pretty simple but effective.

Great, thanks! That still sounds like plenty of meat to me. I need to get off the fence one day and just buy one.

That Pekingese should have been named Tribble... because that's what it looked like.

Then in that group you would have had "Trouble" with "Tribble"

Me and my geeky Star Trek references will leave now....

I am not a dog person (who knew) but I've always loved watching the Westminster show and those dog obstacle events shows (I can't remember what they're called, it's still early in the AM),

Still waiting for my first hummingbird to arrive. Just 40 mins south of here they have been back for two weeks! Maybe they have forgotten about me! On a positive note, we have two families of baby bunnies this year!

On another note, look at this picture from Game 7 of the Jr. B hockey Sutherland Cup final at Allman arena in Stratford ON. Stupid parents! The expressions on the faces of the people around them are priceless.

First pair of hummingbirds just visited my feeder.

:)
I was on my way to the store early this morning and as I walked out the door I saw a hummingbird trying to feed off our feeder. It flew away and I felt bad, haven't cleaned it yet this year.

Got back from Market Basket, made new food (4-1 water/sugar ratio - no red dye) for it and hung it back up.

Like that the grey-haired guy in red appears to have the face of the lady behind him.

yep, make my own too. Store bought can hurt them.

Same with cleaning. I use just a little white vinegar and warm water.

They are expensive but those bird feeders with the built in camera that will identify the birds for you are cool

I'd throw Blades into the Charles myself if this exact Bruins mascot was gonna replace him.
Just needs a mouthguard

I hope you throw the AI's imitation of a toilet seat mascot in with Blades. Not sure if you scrolled down and saw. . .
