CAMBRIDGE, MASS. (WHDH) - The Cambridge Matignon School will permanently close at the end of the current school year, the school’s Board of Trustees president announced on Tuesday.

President Marc-Anthony Hourihan signed the announcement sent to school community members, citing financial challenges as the main reason for the Catholic school’s closure after 75 years of operation.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that The Cambridge Matignon School will permanently close its doors upon the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year,” Hourihan said.

“Although we continue to boast an extensive international student program, strong pipeline to top-tier colleges and universities as well as an immensely experienced and educated faculty, we unfortunately are not immune from the financial challenges that go with continuing this expectation of greatness,” he continued, in part. “While all members of our school leadership group have exhausted all options to continue forward, we have not been able to secure the funds necessary to support the long-term sustainability of the school.”

Saw many high school games in the old Garden, and those Matignon mohawks were a staple in the 80's.

It irks me that they waited until yesterday to let the students and families know they were closing in June. They are at the mercy of other schools taking them in since seats for the fall are already taken.

My high school has added a 7th and 8th grade to help meet the demand for private school education over the past few years.

Times sure have changed.

I just read it.

Man, Ill tell you I hated them growing up. They always ‘poached’ great AHS kids.
But what a program they had there.Marty Pierce right upthere with Ed Burns as EMass legends.
My dad's brother used to coach Cambridge Youth Hockey and Matignon was a huge rival. He died of a stroke at age 58 and so many of his former players came to the funeral.

Jenny Craig will close its doors after four decades in the weight loss and nutrition business, according to internal communications to employees reviewed by NBC News.

In an email sent to employees late Tuesday, the company said it will close “due to its inability to secure additional financing.” Jenny Craig corporate and salaried field employees' last day will be Friday, and hourly center employees’ last day working was Tuesday. The company operated about 500 company-owned and franchised stores in the United States and Canada, according to H.I.G. Capital when it acquired Jenny Craig for an undisclosed amount in April 2019. It now employs more than 1,000 people.

24 years ago today (5/3/1999), Moore, OK was hit by an F5 tornado.

14 years later, on May 20, 2013, i was hit again by an EF5 tornado.

Each time they rebuild and Moore has actually grown in population in the last 10 years.

In the fall it will be 5 years since my brother passed. Going to fly to cali for a few days to visit his grave. Miss this crazy guy.
Take care.

Our family - four boys, four girls, Catholic - marked the one year anniversary of my eldest brother Greg's death from brain cancer with a Zoom meeting on 8 April.

We all told our Greg stories, of which there are many.

We each knew Greg in our own way, grieve differently, yet together.

Like you, I miss that crazy guy, too.

Again, take care and be well,

M.

I so appreciate this discussion and posts. I wish we had language to really embrace our conversations about grief and death (and even sadness).
I'm going to keep trying to create space for this in my professional life.

blessings, friends.

I’ve determined it’s completely impossible to get a good night of sleep the night before a flight.
Truth! I've considered pulling an all nighter a few times because of the anxiety.

At least it looks like you have an early flight which is the best.

Have fun!

Has anyone had success with acupuncture? I went yesterday for stomach pain (had every test available and nothing shows up) it feels like the muscles and I believe it could be from 2 years of hell doing a number on me - my anxiety has been sky high for the entire time and I'm just now able to relax a little.

The practitioner who is Chinese and studied in China worked on those stomach muscles and also treated me for anxiety with needles in other places including my scalp. She said I would sleep better last night.....and I really did! The most solid sleep I have had in a long time - still not long enough but I was amazed how easily I fell and stayed asleep.

I've wanted to try it for awhile now and there is an office next to my ent/allergist. I should check them out next week after i get my allergy shot.

My son-in-law had terrible eczema on his foot and he couldn't get rid of it - he went to this practitioner and it was gone after a couple of sessions, never came back.
