Has anyone had success with acupuncture? I went yesterday for stomach pain (had every test available and nothing shows up) it feels like the muscles and I believe it could be from 2 years of hell doing a number on me - my anxiety has been sky high for the entire time and I'm just now able to relax a little.

The practitioner who is Chinese and studied in China worked on those stomach muscles and also treated me for anxiety with needles in other places including my scalp. She said I would sleep better last night.....and I really did! The most solid sleep I have had in a long time - still not long enough but I was amazed how easily I fell and stayed asleep.
The meridians of the body each control nerve bundles. Acupuncture is designed to treat the flow, ch'i, that passes between each. I'm so glad it helped you!!

Newton, MA.

I remember him well.

The first time we met, I was visiting from Michigan, attending Chase Tennis Camp in the White Mountains. Summer, '78.

Fast forward to '82. Emerson College. Theater Arts major. Went out with Lyn from Canterbury, NH for four years.

Ah, my old man.
I put this in the music thread but thought it could go here as well.

An old Neil Young paying tribute to Gordon Lightfoot. I thought it was touching.

Ladyfan,

I saw a Rolling Stone magazine special edition devoted to CSNY today at CVS.

Heads up in case you're interested,

M.

For those with stomach or spleen issues, adding earth element to the center of your home and also the far left as you walk in your front door will assist healing. all of the 5 elements in TCM have a connected Yang and Yin organ. earth is stomach and spleen.
Yellow flowers in the center of your home, clay pots or terracotta pots or artwork and square items.

Like a chiropractor the chance if lasting positive effects are low. You will have to keep going for the rest of your life. It's not treating the cause, it's masking the symptoms.

But some people swear by them. Other are permanently damaged.

But I understand when you are in pain, your will do nearly anything for relief. Been there.

Listening to Minka Kelly's book and boy does it pack a punch. It is thought provoking and eye opening. It is truly a miracle she has gotten where she is based on the neglect and abuse she experienced as a child. Friday Night Lights pretty much saved her life.

She played Lyla Garrity in the tv show.

Interesting, I've always been drawn to her for some reason. Also, is there better opening theme music than Friday Night Lights?

I agree, but i disagree. I think it's a modality that offers relief while examining the root cause.

I'm not looking to argue, just say that used as a tool it can assist in understanding the whole if used properly. The west has misappropriated the use of TCM because of its "treat the pathogen" mentality. Also there are some poorly trained practitioners, as you alluded to.
I would love for the West to discover the wholeness connection of health and well being.
