Seems a tad dramatic. What's is the fear?
Watch the tape, correct mistakes, try to light a fire especially under those who had a bad game. That is the path forward for the winning side.
Zar is below replacement. His contribution of skill is really non existent in the bigger picture over the course of a single game statistically. An uplift emotionally poses a bigger risk reward tradeoff than keeping him in.

Seems like you're the one worrying about these players. Most of us would just like to keep our winning lineup that features our 12 best available players. Regardless of the risk you think it represents, there's no reason to replace ZAR with a worse player.
I'm trading off on the bigger risk reward tradeoff of emotions. It is actually pretty logical. One can argue that simmonds doesn't give that lift which is a reasonable position but the skill swap is immaterial in the greater picture

None of this happy with a split, it’s “all gravy” mentality we had last year. Kill them, stomp them, go for the throat. They gave us all they had Game 3, they are ripe for the taking tonight, let’s see urgency and desire. Tonight says everything about this team imo, if we see any let up, we’re doomed.

Exciting!

We have 4 games including tonight and need 2 wins out of 4. These games there should be nothing left in the tank, empty it and maybe they find a new level to take with them into the Bruins series.

But them out there be outworked is signs of the same old team that will lose. Last 7 years is mostly a bad dream if they just get a win and this is their chance for a clean slate as they like to talk about. Get some confidence in yourselves to go on a deep run and pound an elite team like Tampa into the dirt

Mo and ROR got it done last game. Time for the 4 amigos to get it done tonight.

We got a game where JT showed up, Marner has been here all series, last game it was the St. Lou connection. Time for Wee Willy, the Sandman and the Nobody's to come through.

We have yet to see Jarkrock, Kampft and Kerfoot do their thing, the team that wins the cup, almost always has a nobody go all world and score something stupid like 8 goals in 12 games, time for our Nobody's come through, I liked the way Kerfoot was skating last game.

Putting Simmonds in means we are scared and can’t handle the physicality.
No Simmonds thanks.
This isn't a game of chicken. You add physicality in a sign you will increase yours which has already taken a toll on Tampa. It is a decapitating move to counter Jeannot who will now need to protect himself instead of being a protector to the other rats.

There once was a team from Tampa Bay
Whose fans would complain and dismay
At the slightest of hits
They'd throw hissy fits
Oh, those whimpy Whiner fans at play!

Their team played with arrogance and pride
But their fans would just cower and hide
At the sound of a check
They'd start to reflex
Oh, those whimpy Whiner fans beside!

The players would cheat tooth and nail
To win every game without fail
But the Whiner fans whined
And complained all the time
Oh, those whimpy Whiner fans, so frail!

So if you go watch Tampa Bay play
And hear some fans whine and dismay
Just remember the team
Cheats, break rules, and complains.
And those Whiner fans, they just don't sway!
ChatGPT is gonna put everyone out of work one day

Why would we change anything about this lineup?

For as bad as they played Saturday, the same lineup crushed Tampa in Game 2. Wayne Simmonds isn't going to change anything for the better.
Cause he won't be making things worse and that line is doing nothing in contributing to a win.

I would rather have Simmonds in than ZAR, Lafferty, Kerfoot.

Those 3 have contributed nothing so far

ZAR has played a physical game. I think he's been more than fine as a grinding 4th liner.

I agree with the other 2. I've been thoroughly disappointed with Lafferty and Kerfoot has been extremely useless thus far. But even with them being ineffective, they do good things on the PK and adding speed.

Jeanott telling luke we are going again lol. Why didnt he. He cant fight if you saw his hand he cant fight with a hand like that so he is of no consequence

Hedman is their best dman but did you notice he wasnt on the ice protecting a lead with a minute to go. He is hurting bad. Leafs should finish every check on him and make him pay
They didn’t hit him once

Anyway, safe to say they aren't dressing Simmonds.

Is he the only forward currently being scratched?

I'd agree with you Tampa is not in a position to play Grape Ape with us and spend the night in the box, they want to get the lead early and then smother us. What we know will happen is Perry will be crashing our net. Stamkos and Kucherov have been invisible, Point is Jesus with his magical healing powers, those guys will be a presence tonight. They are going to come hard and they are going to play fast. Simmonds in no way helps us counter that.

We play our best game of the series so far tonight. Book it.

Coming home 3-1.

Leafs in 5.

I like your positive attitude BUTTTTTTTTTTT TB played their best game and lost. I'd be happy for a mercy win.

Don't think that's actually true, but even if it was, Simmonds is massively below replacement, so that's not an improvement.
The different of 1 or 2 goals a season is irrelevant in a single game. We aren't talking material magnitudes at this
level of player.

I'm doing everything I can to get his ass on the ice, when you are hurting, nothing is more annoying than picking yourself off the ice, over and over and over again. Take his will to compete away.

If I'm the Leafs I'm approaching tonight's game as if the series is tied.

Hoping to see Knies first NHL goal tonight. He’s been all around it. Kid’s got good skills along with a great board game. I think his first goal will be a goal mouth variety.
I was pulling so hard for Knies to get the OT game winner on Saturday. Would have been an incredible way to get this first (of MANY) NHL goals to come. :)

Hoping to see urgency from the Leafs from the opening puck drop tonight. Anything short and we will be chasing the game and in even more tough to win than we already are.

Have the ads been especially awful on this website for mobile for anyone else? Taking over the sides and the bottom of the page non-stop.

Anyway, GLG. Anyway you beat these dirty f***s and almost as bad refs is a good way to beat them.
I swear I am not a spokesperson for Brave but get the Brave browser lol.

Just win, doesn't matter how, doesn't matter about the refs, just pull out a win. That's all that matters. Also hopefully not start the game asleep and maybe awake instead.
