Yeah I don’t know how they rework this to make it palatable…

I’d read that the Rams would pick up the roster bonus. Which leaves the base of 12.5m for the Skins to pay.

Which I think is STILL too rich for my blood. They’d have to get an extension done and make most of that salary a new bonus. Spread over say 2 yrs. To drop the cost down to — well, a lot less.

Resign him for 2yrs at 9m a year, and convert the 12.5 to a base of 2.5 and a 10m signing bonus. He’s get his 7.5 from the Rams, and then cost us 9m for each year.

Not saying he would do that. But it’s “possible” (assuming I am accurate on the how the Cap would work)

Wow, I’ll be very surprised if wherever he ends up, it’s for that cheap.

Look, would you guys just get this CK thing all figured out once and for all so I can firmly settle on the appropriate level of ambivalence?!

FFS, people...

Meh for both of those.

Sure, should they each get similar comp or a small raise? Yes.

19m between the 2 of them? More than doubling last years figures?

No thanks. I love Wagner, and am closer to doing his figure. Ertz? We were lucky he played most of the season. I like him, but 5m max (and Wagner should be 8m)

Two pretty important guys.

On field and for the culture.

Hard to roll into next season relying on Ertz to be as productive and stay health. No idea where they feel Sinnott is. Really strong TE draft coming up.

It’s not about 2 guys though. As I said, I’d pay up from least year, for Wagner.

Not so much for Ertz
It’s about the collective which will always need vet leadership….I assume AP will handle business appropriately.

Perfect guy for a rookie to understudy for a year.

Latest mock….Giants move up to 1, Garrett to the Chargers..

Jayden Daniels can cover up a lot of mistakes by his offensive line, but that shouldn't stop the Commanders from making efforts to improve it. The NFC Championship exposed the shortcomings

Connerly is supposed to be really good, but I can't get the image of Mike Green steamrolling him at the Sr bowl out of my mind. For that reason alone, I must pass.
Yeah, that's bugged me, too -- but our OTs have to be improved, and his game performance has to stand for more than one bad rep in a practice.

I've always said it takes a little luck to win a championship. One big example of luck is that when you tank and land that high draft pick, there's a legit franchise carrying talent available when you pick. Its becoming more apparent just exactly how lucky we were to land JD last year at 2 overall. Like, unbelievably lucky. First, that he's everything we hoped, but also that the Bears were dumb enough to pass on him, and also the simple fact that we sucked at the right year. Contrast that, to this years batch of hungry baby birds all with their mouths open hoping for a QB to drop out of the air into their laps.

There are plenty of other quarterback-needy teams at the top of the draft (Besides the Titans at #1). The Cleveland Browns have the No. 2 choice. The New York Giants are third. The Las Vegas Raiders are sixth, followed by the New York Jets at seventh. The New Orleans Saints are ninth.
Jeremiah said he has given Ward the same draft grade that he gave to Bo Nix, who was the sixth quarterback selected last year when the Broncos took him with the 12th pick. He said he has given Sanders a draft grade just below what he gave to Michael Penix Jr., whom the Falcons took eighth.

The issue with this year’s group is which quarterback will be chosen third and when that will occur. Jeremiah said he considers his third-rated quarterback, Jaxson Dart of Mississippi, worthy of a second-round choice.

All those teams and just two bums who are at best the 5th or 6th in last years draft. Sure they still might pan out, but they probably won't.

We're so damn lucky to have JD.
