According to Farhan Lalji of TSN and other reports there is a culture chemistry issue in Van.

There isnt necessarily a "cancer" in the locker room but there have been many reports that something is off in terms of chemistry and culture within the team. Some will tell you its JT Miller's abrasive personality while other reports say there are too many " relaxed" "chill" guys on the team who dont show enough intensity especially when it comes to practices. Whatever the case is, there are reports that the new management will be very very this off-season and will turn this roster upside down fit more of their liking.

Apparently everyone is available except for Pettersson, Demko, Hughes, Podkolzin.

What is your prediction on who comes and goes this summer?

Some players that might be of interest

-JT Miller- 1 yr left. 5.2 mil AAV. 93 pts in 75 games thus far
- 7.2 mil qualifying offer as RFA- however he wants long term contract probably around 6.75. Pure Sniper
- Horvat- One of if not the best face off guy in the NHL- 30 goals in 70 games. 27 yrs old
- Garland- signed long term at a very good AAV- ultra skilled and endless motor- small in size
- Hoglander- hit a sophmore slump this season before season ending injury. but is very skilled
- Myers- say what you will about the contract but he is a big right shot dman and has played like a top pairing Dman this season.
- OEL- similar to Myers, contract is big but he has been an excellent top pairing Dman this season.
- Rathbone- promising young offensive LHD- 5'10. Destroying the AHL in his rookie season- 39 pts in 35 games. He might be blocked into making the big team as Hughes and OEL are present.

The one consistent message that Allvin and Rutherford have said is that they are looking for cap relief and cap space and arent opposed to taking a step back next season in order to be competitive 2-3 years from now. Which means picks and prospects are welcomed.

Predictions? Proposals?

my 2 cents

Boeser to LA for 1st and D man prospect
Miller to NYR for young roster player, top prospect, 1st round pick

From a Jets POV I would have interest in Hoglander & Garland realistically.

Hovat & JT minor interest but I doubt it due to multi reasons.

We shall see but there were lots of leaks during TDL here in Van that NYR had massive interest for Miller and had a big offer for him and Motte but Van just didnt want to trrade Miller away in the middle of a playoff push. NYR just got Motte instead.

I think they will re-visit those proposals in the off-season.

I'm hoping the 1st round pick is for next year tho and not this summer's.

Letting JT Miller go would be a huge mistake unless they're sure he won't re-sign

If he wont re-sign its all but guranteed he is traded in the summer.

The interesting decision will be if Miller wants to stay in Vancouver.

Does Van want to give him a long term big contract that will start at his age 30 yr season? Those rarely end well.

Hoglander I can see getting traded for a similar young talented prospect but a Dman.

Garland probably 1st and a prospect.

Horvat and Miller would be Kings ransom return

Honest guess is that they'll do everything they can to trade Boeser and will explore Miller and Myers all offseason long. Garland is more of a long shot to me if they can swap him for a competent RHD. Other than that, I don't see foundation shaking trades.

Even if they have some sort of cultural issue - and this isn't the first time this has been rumored this season, going back to before Bruce arrived - they've played well under Boudreau and that should help Vancouver get better value if they are putting players on the market this summer.

I heard they were interested in Miller but what big offer was ever on the table? And where did you get this from?

I think Horvat & Boeser will be moved. Horvat to me is a 3rd line center on a Cup contender not a 2nd line center about to be paid like a 1st line center. He is good at faceoffs but not a guy who elevates his teammates play. Unfortunately this will mean a very large contract to Miller which will hurt in a few years and they will need to get a defensive type center in the trades they make.

The acquisition of Copp and his natural chemistry with Panarin pretty much allows that JT Miller to NYR potential deal to die a quiet "what if" death

The same reasons it didn't happen at the deadline (can't afford to re-sign him, won't give up Schneider) still exist, plus we traded for Copp and are likely to re-sign him, which means there will be no cap space for JT at all.

I think Miller is by far the most likely to be traded followed by one of Boeser or Garland.

Also the “culture problems” stuff is so exhausting. It’s getting to the point with the Vancouver media where I just have to assume they’re talking out of their ass. If you’re not going to get into specifics, then stfu. Because every time the culture issues are brought up the conversation is something like:

“There’s clearly culture issues, everyone knows that.”

“What are the culture issues?”

“I don’t know.”

“Is it Miller?”

“Not sure.”

This isn’t how rumours work. Nobody from the Canucks is leaking info to the media saying “just say theres ‘culture problems’ in the dressing room”. It makes no sense. If there’s nothing specific to point to, I’m not buying it. By all accounts everything has been extremely positive since BB got here. There’s WAY more evidence to support the theory that the culture is just fine than there is evidence to support the contrary.

Fletcher said the same shit about the Flyers lockerroom after the 20-21 season, made a bunch of terrible moves, and made the team leaps and bounds worse for now and the future. Be afraid Canucks fans.

...Miller to NYR for young roster player, top prospect, 1st round pick
really believe NYR are not bringing back Miller
(and please lets not assume 'rumors' are actually 'leaks', often just speculation or click-bait)

Hoglander or Horvat could be of interest
but i don't see NYR making too many trades in off-season
the group is young-ish, they are responding well to coach Turk, and pipeline is rich

there is talk that one of the Leafs core 4 are going to be moved this off season, if that happens I'd be open to a Nylander/Garland deal.

I think Nylander is the guy that's most likely to be moved and I wanted Garland when he was in Arizona.

I don't want to move a core piece but if it is done I'd target Vancouver and Garland

Horvat might just cost as much if not more than Miller considering the cheaper AAV on their upcoming new contract, Age, and Horvat's value as one of the best Faceoffs guys in the NHL who can also pot 30 goals.

The stuff that came out about Hamonic after the trade was kind of eye opening. Not that I think he's some blameless saint, but usually that type of stuff isn't celebrated so openly. It's clear there's a divide over there given the amount of smoke.

Would hope the Sens would kick tires on Boeser/Garland. One of the only true holes left on the roster is a bonafide top-six RW and either guy could make a nice fit. Feels like they both have their warts, but would be a trmendous upgrade on what's currently available.
