Xirik, I don't understand where all this optimism is coming from (from you).

We are fast heading for an epic collapse the likes of which this Devils team has never seen this season.

@NJDevs26 said it best : Are you waiting for the Devils to completely fall out of the Playoff race before going "gee...maybe we do have a problem"?

Come on, Xirik.

I get being optimistic but this is a bit much.
Yeah my mistake, The Islanders and Rangers are way better then this team and we'll not get into the playoffs.

If they don't score off the rush they don't score. This team cannot play on the interior and if you can't do that you're going to have a super difficult time scoring. They've got skill players but nobody to play in front of the net.

And yet they still get enough glorious chances that 3 or 4 goals a game should be pretty normal. I'm ok with not mucking and grinding when you are generating as many chances as they are by other means. What I'm not ok with is this long standing complete inability to bury any of those chances.

The Pens are beatable right now. The Islanders busted them open last night and the Red Wings beat them tonight.

It's an absolute MUST WIN.

We can't keep losing all these games at home.

Not only did the Red Wings beat them, they outshot by A LOT. And they're not as good as we are.

And whole bunch of games prior to that... Sorry, this looks a hell of a lot like last year, and that team finished near the basement. We have a whole lot more history to show that getting 8 out of a possible 24 points is far more indicative of what type of team they are than 26 out of a possible 26 was.
Not even close to last year. Last year we lost 8-1 against Boston and would have gotten blown out in half those games we lost during this streak.

Boston is the best team in the league and didn’t have McAvoy or Marchand for a month plus

Washington hasn’t had Backstrom or Wilson all season and are right in the race lol

Avs have been decimated by injuries and are still in the playoffs
Veteran teams deal with key injuries better than the youngest team in the league?

I'll bet you anything other than my HF Boards account and the titles to my home and car that Ruff is DONE by January 15th, unless we really turn it around.

If we don't turn around in the new month, He's GONE.

I've never been more confident about it.

I really thought he was done so many times last year and then the offseason, but I'm really convinced the end is nigh

UNLESS we turn it around.

But for my money? He's currently the favorite to be the first head coach fired. It wasn't that way two-three weeks ago, but it is now.

If the team has another month of this maybe the fans break out the WE WERE RIGHT chants directed at Lindy

no it’s just venting on an internet message board after watching our team shit the bed all month after showing a ton of promise.

maybe they’ll turn it around and be fine but they don’t look like a good hockey team. they look like a team that can control the play for long stretches and take a lot of shots, some of them of the high danger variety, but not finish. and let in more goals than they can score every night whether the opponents goals are hard earned or not.

if there’s one thing i can say about the last few years, it that the devils made scoring a goal look SO hard, like they had to fight and fight and fight to put the puck in the net. but the opponents make it look so easy! that’s the hockey we’ve been playing

trust the process

Ya know sure he's small and not the power forward we really need but JG would definitely help this team get us out of this current funk but, the bastard went to Columbus.

Maybe yeah.. Well now that bratt tanked the shit outta his skill value. Good for us and bad for us. Him playing like this will not help the team go anywhere. We can get him for cheap but if he plays like this... What for.
