I think I've asked this before, but do we have any Tampa area Wings here? I'm in Sarasota/Bradenton and have season tickets to the Lightning and have gone to every Lightning/Red Wing game her ein Tampa the past 4 years. My favorite being the last one where my friends borrowed my jerseys and my Fiancé wore here Lightning jersey.

Props on owning a Hronek jersey

Exciting way to kick off the NFL season. I was hoping those toes were in bounds to keep the game going just a bit longer.

First game of the beer league season was a tough loss, 7-6 in OT. We were missing our top defenseman and several of us hadn't played together before, so we'll make some adjustments and move on. But it was still fun to get some exercise, and I managed to get an assist with a feed from behind the net to our center.

It's very strange playing wing when I'm used to either goalie or defense. Straying too far from the net makes me nervous. :D

Bet you were back-checking your arse off. I know what it's like making that uncomfortable change from the blueline to forward. Gahhhh!

Just came back from a week vacation in Barcelona.

Super cool city, Sitges, a suburb had one of the more beautiful sea walks I've ever seen. And I was caught by surprise by the multiple "walk up this huge hill overlooking the whole city and the Mediterranian Sea" parks that existed.

I recommend the trip. Staying in the Gothic Quarter, you are within walking distance of a lot of cool shit and they actually have a functional mass transit system, so you can go even further.

I'll share some of the best pictures I got later when I have time.

Had looked at visiting the Pyrenees last year and Barcelona, jealous of that. How was your weather ?

Gorgeous. Mid 70s all week. One day of spitting rain (drizzle hard enough so you know it’s raining, but not hard enough you even need more than a few minutes to dry when you get inside.).

It definitely felt hotter in the sun as I was sweating a whole bunch… but all in all, not bad.

Saturday in Sitges might have been the most perfect weather I’ve ever been in though on the Mediterranean coast

Here are a bunch of them. I still have to comb through and get all the bad quality ones out, but these should all be good

Highlights: La Sagrada Familia, Catherdal de Barcelona, Park Guell, Parc de la Ciutadella, Castillo Castelldefels, Sitges, and several museums (museo nacional d’art de Catalina and Balloon Museum Pop Art Barcelona)

Thanks for sharing. Great pictures, love to see the great architecture and history. Amazing how much of it is preserved around the world. Makes me have the travel itch myself just looking at it. I have a week left of vacation for 2024... and researching flights. Almost cheaper to fly to Europe over western Canada to visit family.

Wings pitch a shutout and my alma mater just erased a 21 point deficit in 7 minutes to win their football game. I have ascended to Heaven and met the Lord. (I am not a Tigers fan, Braves fan, so I'm not dampened by that)

Does anyone remember what game it was early last season when Osgood was going on and on about the hot dogs at opposing arenas, getting mustard on his jersey, opposing fans bringing him cookies when he was the backup sitting by the Zamboni gate? This may have also been the same game where he told the story about how at one opposing arena where the backup did not sit on the bench, Scotty Bowman kept trying to call him over for a timeout or to put him in for relief and Osgood kept telling Scotty he was staying put and not going over there. These clips absolutely need to be turned in to a youtube video and I would be happy to do so. I'm thinking it had to be an away game broadcast on BSD since Ozzy was doing color commentary.

After an 0-2-1 start, the beer league team got our first win last night. Great effort by everybody after going down 0-2 to rally back and win 6-4.

The suds taste even better after a victory.

Oh man, I bet that was a ton of fun. I don't think I have been on the ice in 7 or 8 years but I recently subbed in for a game on a friends floor hockey team and scored 11 of 14 goals in a 14-2 victory. Once the hands got warmed up it was game over  My friends team had no players on the bench that game, hence the reason he begged me to come out and play. We all literally played 40/40 minutes. I lift 5-6 days a week and walk the dogs for 3ish miles a day 5 days a week along with arm wrestling training so I am very active, but at 220lbs+ doing short little sprints for 40 minutes absolutely kicked my ass to the point where I puked after the game. I currently have a huge itch to get back on the ice now. My dad played all the way through juniors then coached until he was nearly 50 but hasn't been on the ice in longer then I have. Getting him on the ice with me would be the ultimate goal.
