I thought so too, he did have a "uh, what should I do game 7 look" behind the bench. I still don't know what set him off, and was really surprised he didn't get two for mouthing off as long as he did.

Carter might have said something to him because he was trying to get to Carter.

I've noticed as far as Toffoli is concerned, that opposing teams are chipping him every chance they get. He isn't getting to full speed and he also isn't getting hard on pucks along the boards. Not sure when everything changed, but it seems its been that way the last 20 games or so.

Meh, this team has problems, but I think guys like Toffoli and Carter are going to get hot at the right times.

Players often let Toffoli have a lot of room and now they don't. He's not strong on the puck. He's pretty much just a goal scorer. If Carter can get going again, Toffoli will get more room.

For funsies, the Kesler trump card? not so much. 20% CF% tonight, and let Kopitar run him over for 85%.

In fact, this year head to head, Kopi's got a 62.5% CF vs. Kesler, and 2 even strength goals to his 0 in 30 minutes; ALL of Kopi's stats go up a ton with Kesler on the ice.

1-1-11 VS the Ducks over the last 13. That's pathetic!

this is after game 7 ? they built their team to beat us specifically since then, signing kesler was all about shadowing kopi and beating us and even yesterday these are BIG games to them and while its bigger than beating say nashville its not the end all to us , they have to prove to them selves they own us to have any chance come playoffs considering their failures in the Biggest games come playoffs, do you really think their core doesn't worry about losing game sevens at home to the wings ,kings and hawks the last few years, hockey is as much about attitude and mindset as it is about talent and as long as we have the core we do we have a pretty good shot

The Ducks looked like they drove play early, but for the most part, the Kings dictated. I counted four loose pucks in dangerous areas that Kopitar couldn't get his stick on (one that sweet pass from Lucic across the top of the crease). Some of that domination was maybe due to the Ducks playing down a defenseman, but nevertheless.

Two power play goals and it still felt like they weren't capitalizing on their, many, PP chances.

If only there were a way to graft Lecavalier's hands and eyes onto Brown's body. Get on that, Lombardi. It's science.

there was also 4 times brown had a grade aa chance in the slot area and never could control the puck , its amazing he has declined this much, the laws of average and you think he would comme around

Kopitar put on a possession clinic 5v5 yesterday. Nobody the Ducks put on the ice opposite him could slow him down. Very impressive.

I wonder how many of the Kin gs high % scoring chances that go unconverted are Brown's. I would guess it's a significant %. He gets so many glorious opportunities and can't bury them. It's sad that I get disappointed when he's on the ice, because it's where offense goes to die. It's been 2+ seasons of "nothing happening".

The thing is, we've seen him shoot the same shot years before and they'd go in. Plays in front, hacking away at loose pucks were going in too, now the goalies are making stops or it just hops right over his stick. As frustrating as it is for fans, just think of what its like for him?

I blame Sutter.

This is no big deal... just witnessing regression to the mean is all. Kings had an offense 10-15th not to long ago... that was just unsustainable... Kings regressing back toward 20th or so which is much more normal for them. Ebb and Flow...

thats the thing its just crazy , have been waiting for it to even out but its been a while now , Saturday him and even kopi had pucks go off their sticks or hop over for the tying goal over and over again, enough to make a guy drink but at 12 dollars a beer damn

Exactly. There was one play that Kopi pass him the puck in the crease, and the goalie just nicks it enough to cause it to hop as Brown swings to knock it in. And it's not just Brown like you said. The same thing has happened game after game to most of our scorers. On the last pp, the puck was going in only to glance off a defenseman shin pad and miss by less than an inch with Kopitar off to the side of the net.:shakehead

Always with the low hanging fruit.

Glad it's not just me seeing that.

Honestly our biggest issue this stretch has literally been puck luck.

When all our playing metrics go up including high danger scoring chances while all our defensive metrics tighten but we're scoring less and losing, and the eye test tells us the same thing, I'm thinking things will turn around.

Always with the low hanging fruit.

I was kinda joking about the Sutter screwing Brown up, but I do have a sneaking suspicion on the subject. Sutter seems to be a fan of the Dwight King style of play. Stay in position, don't chase hits, don't react emotionally. The game that made Brown successful was lurking around out of position trying to nail top 6 guys with their heads down. Then reacting instinctually to the chaos that ensued. Getting involved emotionally was a big part of Brown's game. Now you can see him trying to think about what to do when he's playing.... like when he's making a pass. He sits there and thinks about it... Brown isn't playing his game any more and it's not working.

Has there even been 1 "Brown's dirty" thread on HF this year? This is the problem. I'm not saying play dirty, but if people aren't over reacting on the main boards about Brown laying guys out, there's a problem.
