Yeah. It's quite the Kings way the Kings lost. Outshoot, outchance, outplay, outhit the opponent, then lose...I remember a lot of close calls that the Kings just couldn't put in. Especially in the 2nd half of the game.
The score today was 3-2, not 5-1. "Playoff intensity" != playoff game. Also is now a bad time to mention that there's still 18 games left to the season? A lot can happen between now and that start of the playoffs.
The point is both games basically had playoff pacing and intensity, and the Ducks handily won both times, though the Kings put up more of a fight today and still lost.
Ducks will be the team to beat in the playoffs.

Since Pronger left, they haven't won a lot of playoff series. And they had the Winnipeg and Flames last year in the first two rounds so...We'll see.
I also don't think the Ducks are the chokers the Sharks are. They're going to be super hungry, especially after their exit's in the last 2 years.
If we go by history I hope you are wrong again...Its obvious the Ducks won't be able to keep this pace, but they're built much like we are, which is no accident. Don't get me wrong, I hope they blow it in the playoffs and they get wrecked, but I just don't see it. Rakell is the player that impressed me the most today.

They played better then expected.
I still have my doubts about beating the Blackhawks with this defense and Brown-Lewis-Clifford sucking the live out of offense...

Kings lost a couple of series before winning the Cup in 2012.
I'd be fine with squaring off against San Jose in the first round. Let the Ducks go against a central team that clawed their way into a playoff spot.
Neither SJ or ANA has done a damn against decent playoff performers so there still is a chance we get by them. And everyone around here knows my views on this Kings defense and bottom six...Do you really think the Kings can beat SJ or Anaheim first? The team is a dysfunctional mess. The defense on the whole is terrible. Too many pylons and it especially shows up in the pk. The forwards can't be aggressive enough up top and that leaves way too many open shots from the point resulting in one tip/screen goal after another.
As bad as Brown is he is only behind AK, ML and VL right now in effectiveness. Too many forwards that can't skate either. Any one see a glimmer of hope moving forward? I don't.
That's true, but we had a good defense that the team seriously lacks for this year's playoffs.
It's the speed, creativity, net-drive and a great shoot the team is missing with Gaborik. Didn't he have his way in the Ducks-Kings playoff series? Underrated player, despite his lower scoring...Over the last 12 games, the Kings have only had two games in which they scored more than two goals, and they were wins against the Rangers and Canadiens.
They are 6-6 in that 12 game stretch, scoring 24 (5 of them against the Rangers), and allowing 27 goals. Three of those six losses have been by one goal.
Their inability to generate offense and their poor PK has really become a hindrance. This team has really missed Gaborik, and they appear oh so slow on the transition.
