We had no issues identifying CCM authentic back in the day.
For a first-time buyer, what are some of these “differences” I should know or look out for?Man, just looking around @ ebay and bullshit NHL "stores" - there's a lot of f***ery out there and bullshit knockoffs.
I hope people know the difference.

Interested in a Chytil jersey (assuming Drury doesn’t do something stupid yet), yet in the MSG online store HE’S NOT EVEN A SELECTABLE OPTION. Wtf?!?!?

Adidas selling retail jerseys as "authentic" and adding a fight strap to it, ruined the whole concept of authentic jerseys.
Everyone thinks they have authentic jerseys now when they purchase them in the store (Adidas branded) but it's still a replica.
Does anyone know what happened with those class action lawsuits against adidas regarding the authentic jerseys? I remember adidas' defense being that authentic just means officially licensed, real, and genuine and not that it meant on ice model jerseys. The original lawsuit mentioned that in descriptions adidas had given the impression they were on ice jerseys but those descriptions were from years back and since removed.
Any new updates for y'all?
Regarding customization through Cool Hockey and this is all contingent on whether they still have the materials.
I have an original Lafreniere reverse retro jersey. I might want to consider getting it customized to Fox. I have some questions that I hope previous experience with CH with some of you will assist me in my decision making.
1. Does the nameplate need to be as long for Fox as it was originally for Lafreniere?
2. Would only the "1" be removed for "2" or would both numbers get removed and then the 23 get placed on the back and sleeves?
3. Does it matter if the numbers and nameplate were hand stitched? Mine weren't.
4. Does the overall product once returned look like nothing was ever done to it?
I second working with Mongo's. He's a great guy and is pretty straight up about what he can and can't do.The retail jerseys (Made in Indonesia) are much thinner material and removing stitched numbers will leave a residue. It is more noticeable with white jerseys as the colours "bleed into the fabric" so to speak.
There are a couple of options you can explore. My first suggestion would be Mongo's jersey restorations. I have worked with him in the past, albeit mostly on authentic jerseys (Made in Canada) but he can answer all these questions in way more depth, and with more expertise than any of us here probably can.

So our move is done, the new neighborhood is great, the new job starts tomorrow, everything is good. Our furniture and belongings were delayed and won’t be here until next weekend, which is a pain in the booty and I had to go out and buy some work clothes for the interim and we’re working off of two folding chairs and an air mattress, but… we’re here, the furniture is coming, a job with a good wage is starting. All is good.
Except I have $140 left in my bank and won’t get paid for 2 weeks. So, Fox or Zib home authentic, size 50 or blank home authentic size 46 are available. $150 for the stitched ones, $75 for the blank authentic. I’ll send em to you USPS priority as soon as my belongings get here. Just need to find myself some breathing room for the weeks until payroll kicks in for me. So close to a fresh start! Finally debt free as well, but no CC because my credit was wrecked prior. It’s getting healthy now, but I don’t have a credit card at the moment to float us. Nor would I want to go down that path right now - we could rack up $1000 and then get sucked into paying minimums because we want to bank some money. I’d rather sell my jerseys or PlayStation and use money we already have than use credit. For now.
Is it me or does it look like they’re not using nameplates this season? I didn’t see one on Quick just now or Vesey. Maybe it’s my crappy cable feed?
