That white Lady Liberty is interesting. It’s the first time I’ve seen a CCM replica with the thick blue outline on the crest.
I’ve been slowly gathering a small white Lady Liberty replica collection for years. In the collection, I have Starter, Pro Player, and CCM versions. Here’s the general rundown and timeline on the different manufacturers of the replicas.
- Starter came first in 1998-1999 since their version of the Lady Liberty was the only version worn by the team for that one season.
- Pro Player took over after Starter lost their license in 2000. Pro Player continued to use some of Starter’s contracted factories.
- CCM took over after Pro Player. This was also the switch to airknit material.
- CCM became the Koho versions. In my searching through the years, these are rarer to find.
Previously mentioned by others, Starter’s collars were reversed on their replicas (Blue/Silver/Red) while Pro Player, CCM and KOHO had the correct Red/Silver/Blue pattern. But, the Starters had the correct thick blue outline on the Liberty crest and shoulder patches like the on-ice jerseys. In my opinion, the thick blue outline finishes off the white Lady Liberties nicely. Check out the Liberty crest and shoulder patch side by side comparisons below:
Replica Starter and Pro Player have the crests/shoulder patches that are stitched or embroidered directly on to the jersey. CCM and Koho are heatpressed and some tend to start lifting off with age.
Note: It’s been mentioned that the Starter has reversed collar colors. I do have a weird outlier that does have the correct Red/Silver/Blue collar. They must exist. Here it is to the left, next to my other Starter.
