Thoughts on this?

I'm a jersey purist so I hate this. Jersey foul that there's a jersey made for a retired player with the current materials and brand that player never wore. Those Gretzky RR's in the NHL shop are a huge foul and make my skin crawl.

Just my two pennies.

Lundqvist was bought out in 2020. Adidas jerseys were introduced in 2017. Unless it's a Primegreen (Introduced in 2021-22), this is a jersey Lundqvist wore.

Hey folks,

What are your thoughts on the reverse retro 2.0 jersey?

I want to get a new jersey and it's between either a Mika home or RR ...or a Kane road or home jersey. Would it be bad to get a Kane Jersey just to say he was a Rangers in his career.

Yes that Gretzky Liberty remake is disgusting. It's not even the right color!

Finally took a couple of rudimentary pics. Will edit later to show some puck marks. Worn against Vegas!

It’s weird seeing a white Liberty with a CCM logo when they were made by Starter for the single year they were worn by the team.

The white Liberty jerseys were initially made by Starter but throughout the season they also used Koho, Pro Player and CCM. Back then the jersey market was the wild west.

A far cry from the consistency we saw with the introduction of Reebok in the mid-2000s and subsequently Adidas.

Important to know that on authentics, Starter was the only maker of the white Liberty jersey. Pay very close attention to collar too as some were made with the wrong color order from top to bottom.

I don’t mean to be argumentative but I’m not sure how accurate your statement is. Are you saying in 1997-1998 the New York Rangers switched jersey manufacturers from Starter to three other manufacturers in the same year? That is not how I recall the sequence of events. Yes, the official jersey manufacturer switched to each of those brands in the decade AFTER 1999, but in 1999 the only authentic maker was Starter.

And the white Liberty was ONLY used in 1998-99 so the only authentic is a Starter.

Correct. But if you are able to find an on-ice authentic Starter white Liberty, you struck gold. Those are so rare!

In the late 90s and early 2000s, there were more than a handful of instances where jerseys were manufactured by 3rd parties such as Koho or Pro Player. This was often the result of high demand, short turnarounds and companies like Starter and Nike being unable to deliver on time.

This was mostly the case for jerseys requested by teams for call-ups, waiver claims and trade acquisitions.
