Gallants act getting old quickly …

He has to tell the media why he sat the #2 Overall for a bag of shit …

He has to admit playing Strome was detrimental…..

He has let the media in on if Copp was playing w a bad injury

He has to delve into Panarin going south ….

He actually believes the moves he made before game 6 gave the team the best chance to win?

🤦‍♂️

There is much to like about Gallant but this overreliance on guys like Hunt, Reaves, and McKegg is not one of them.

Yeah, Drury has to take away the toys. Problem is, Drury apparently loves his Reaveses and Blaises too.

Let's take it EZ. Blais and Reaves don't belong in the same sentence. Blais has TALENT, don't get it twisted.

Kakko had opportunities to finish checks and did not. He floated in the slot while action was in corner. He passes to avoid contact. Tampa intimidated him and he folded. Compare 13-72-79 to 24..........24 faltered.

He's soft. It needs to change going forward. He will not have a long career if he doesn't show a willingness to go to the dirty areas to score. Its cliche, but in Kakko's case its true.

Blais has a little more talent but not TOO much.

You are right that Blais is a cut above the Reaves, Hunts, Rooneys and McKeggs of the world who can't play.

I would lump Blais in with Goodrow as a player I like in the bottom 6, but love on the fourth line.

A fourth line of Blais-Goodrow is the makings of a 2014 fourth line that owned shit and actually had a positive impact for us. The next question is affordability because at the end of the day it hurts to play Goodrow $3.6m to be a super fourth liner. Can't pay Blais much more than he's making right now.

However.... top 6? Top 9?

No. We should go ahead and hand that spot to Kravtsov.

As much as the decision pissed me off, 100% agree with this. Fatigue huge issue for the NYR as well.
Except Zib said there was no fatigue. The team looked like crap in game 6 because GG didn't play his best line and changed the approach to primitive hockey when they hadn't played like that all season. Now GG is dodging. Poor decisions followed by a poor performance here. Annoying.

Only thing I care about from Gallant on Kakko is him saying he sees him and Laf as definite top 6 players next year. Im not going to twist myself into a pretzel all summer worrying about the G6 scratch that ultimately wouldnt have mattered either way.
Right there with you. I do think he is hiding a little something behind his comments, but what the f* can I do about it?

Us pounding a team like TBL in the future absolutely requires Kakko and Laf and Chytil to be top 6 QUALITY, and soon.
