Seems like the Laine thing is picking up steam. I wouldn't hate having him back and it would be an excuse to gwt my Laine heritage jersey back into circulation lol.
CBJS better be retaining 50% if this happens.
I don't want to see Laine making more than Scheif and Helle.Or take Schmidt as part of it.
CBJ fans seem to think they doubt ownership allows retaining salary on Laine.
Schmidt and McGroarty for Laine and Jiricek

Man, imagine Perfetti dishing to LaineI'm not sure how I feel about getting Laine back.
First off I don't like him at his 8.7 contract. He would basically have to come for next to nothing or even with a sweetener to take that on IMO. It would force the Jets to move out other contracts as well (Pionk / Schmidt, Iaffalo, etc.).
You also have to know he's healthy, both physically and mentally. He's had a rough few years, and he's currently a huge risk.
If he's even in the mix, and the Jets somehow acquire him, do you try and extend Ehlers? Doesn't that put us back to where we were before with so much cap taken up by wingers? And skilled ones at that, none in the top 6 would have much, if any defensive skills or physicality.
And what does that mean for Perfetti? I don't think moving on from Perfetti is a good move, especially to take on larger contracts.
From what I understand he was doing okay at it for a while.my only question would be how did laine look at center during his time with cbj?

I like all the players for sure, just trying to visualize that team trying to win 16 games in the playoffs.Man, imagine Perfetti dishing to Laine
Connor Schief Vilardi
Laine Perfetti Ehlers
Lambert Lowry Nino
Barron Names Iafallo
Not sure how that line up would fare, but it would be fun to watch

There's 0 grit / physicality / defense in the top 6. Perfetti might have the best defensive metrics lol. Tons of skill for sure. And 2.1M Apples on the bench. With that much $ in the skilled wingers, what can they afford on D is my worry.
