Holding at 4-5 is no piece of cake for Kerber. Hope Bianca wins the first point.

What an insane match. What progress from Andreescu. The variety in her game...the power.. the smarts... the winning mentality. It's a special combo.

The good thing is that she really had to earn it against Svitolina and Kerber who are two players who eat up young players with stamina issues. And she had to face them while having playing the most matches on tour out of anyone at the end of a tournament. Just an insane impossible stretch from Andreescu. I kept expecting her to just run out of juice. It was close, and she had to pull every tricks in the book but she did it barely.

#24 in the world for Andreescu. And the sky is the limit.

Canada with the top two ranked junior (i.e. under 20) males and the top ranked junior female in the world now. What a time it is to be a Canadian tennis fan. Can't wait to see what the future holds.

Awesome, this kid has sky high potential. Nice to see a New Gen win a big tourney.
Well, Osaka of course but nice to see more bubbling up.

Indeed! Those two women really make their opponents dig deep mentally and physically, and that's exactly what Andreescu did in both matches.

The streaming worked out well for me. Managed to watch part of the first set while I pretended to watch my kids' swimming lessons. I was able to catch bits and pieces this afternoon. She really has an impressive game. I'm excited to see where she goes from here.

Rogers Cup organizers are probably pretty happy. Toronto native Bianca becomes a great selling point for the Ontario market, and Montreal native may be a top 40 player by the time the summer rolls around.

I thought facing a talented left-hander in the final might prove one hurdle too many, but it didn't seem to phase Bianca much at all.

Qualifying draw out for Miami. Felix #2 seed.

Good draw in the first round but couple of vets waiting in the final round.

I love how she said "I want this SO much" to her coach when he was talking to her. She was dying out there but fighting hard even though you could tell she was hurting.

Andreescu draws Begu again in the first round in Miami.

They played a tight first round at IW.

Gotta think she's due for a letdown at some point

Duelling backhands between Roger and Thiem, looks like it will be a set apiece in a few moments.

Set apiece.

This is a pretty good tennis match,
