If it helps, I don't see the Hawks signing Harding. He doesn't skate well and his game looks clunky. Plus given how he'd be a free agent at the end of the season, I don't know if he'd sign here with the logjam of LHDs ahead of him already here. I have similar concerns about the signability of Greene and Thompson as they're not far from their rights expiring and they might want to go somewhere with a less crowded path to the NHL.
I don't know what value Kurashev could bring in a trade. Yes he's relatively cheap and was productive last year, and might put up another 50-55 points this year but that's only if he plays on Bedard's wing. Is another team gearing for the playoffs going to value a player that has only produced as a wing with a top line center setting him up?
I could be wrong but from what I remember, most wings that get moved at the deadline for worthwhile returns seem to be either superstars or bigger, gritty guys that add sandpaper to a playoff roster. I'm excited to see what Murphy might bring - even with retention.
