Someone who deserves more attention on here is Victor Stjernborg. He is at 20 years old one of the better defensive forwards in the SHL. He plays such a mature game and almost never makes the wrong decision. He has been a central part of Växjö Lakers when they have won the Swedish championship, both in 2021 (as a 17 year old) and now in 2023 as a 19 year old. Impressive.

He also played in the WJC for Sweden twice and the second time he was captain of the team. He is a great leader and will probably get an A on his chest next year in Växjö. He has a concussion atm but don't be surprised if get gets to play some with the national team this season.

The thing is that he doesn't have a ton of offensive upside so he doesn't get any attention on here. Althoguh, I would like to believe he has more offense in him than what he has shown so far and that he just needs some more time. I believe that he could be a really good 4th center/winger in the NHL. Someone that you need to be successful in the play offs. Think Marcus Kruger.

He looked like he had lead skates at the WJC. Maybe he could be a 4th line PK specialist. I can't see him being more than that at this point though.

Domenic Basse stopped 27/28 shots in a 4-1St Clip State win over Omaha...he has pkayed really well last 10 goes... A .920 save% over last 10 GP ...

Given that Stauber and Commesso have been shelled lately in Rockford...maybe we need to sign Basse ?

I wonder if the Bkackhawks erred in taking Kantserov at #44. ..because Carson Rehkhopf who the Kraken took at #50 is just tearing up the OHL this season.. I would have taken him at #44... Remember he was tge MVP of the Top Prspects Game and he has exploded for Kitchener this season..

Of course Kantserov is playing limited minutes vs men in the KHL so not going to put up big numbers in such a role...but given that Rehkhopf is a good sized Center at 6"1 195 and also checked the goiodvsl kater box, maybe Hawks risked too muchb taking the smallish Russian RW?

Hard to know how much Kantserov would be able to produce if given a top role if he played for an OHL team....but he would need to go a long way to beat Rehkopf who is en fuego at 31g 24a in 30GP and +16...

False alarm...some thought Kk was going to Team Canada for workd Jrs...but alkegrfly he is off roster for now due to a family matter...

Howver maybe this woukd be a goid tine for Hawks tobre-think their intention not to release hom for goibg to the Workd Jrs?

I think they should...a lot of kids cone back from that tournament with greater takeccharge and confidence..

So Boston College won the game 5-4over Providence... The usual suspects for BC scored...Cuuter Gauthier 1g 2a...Will Smith 1 g ,Gabe Perrault 1g1a and Ryan Leonard 1a.. Oskar Kelvin (a Bruins draftee) akso scored 2 goals for BC......Forc Providenxe the2 Hawks dmen draftees Connor Kelley (1a) and Taige Harding (no points) were their usual STAH roles ...but Kelley was on for a PK goal against and 1 5x5 goal against...but because he was on for a Providence goal finished at Zero inthe +/-...Harding was also a Zero ..

Harding not only isBIG at 6'7v235 but he actually looks massive...Towered over everyone when they all got together in after the play jostle scrims..

My opinion ...Harding is not as smooth as Vlasic or as composed as Crevier ...BIT with that body and long reach even if he gets beat at first he can still use that reach to stymie the play or veer opps forwards off away from the net...
....so probably just a 3rd pairing ceiling STAH minute munched who helps keep teams from scoring 5x5...He only took 1 shot on net but it was a hard blast from the high slot...I think he has a good hard shot but needs to use it more if he gets o-zon time..maybe Providrnce has him on a eash and maybebin i another system he would be taking more attack mode chances for himself.?

I think he needs to playv1 morecseason I School to finish his SR year next sesson and maybe he can recover the offense we saw from his Soph season last year.

Harding looked pretty good today. Not as offensive as he was when I used to see him with the Oil Barons but since playing NCAA he's become lot more defensively aware.
He certainly won't let anyone take liberties with our smaller guys when he's on the ice once he makes it to the show......if he makes it to the show. I think he will but agree with Fiddy that he needs a couple more years of seasoning. These big fellas take a bit longer to develop to their full potential.

And Minnesota ties Ohio State 1-1 but loses the does not count shoot-out.. No points for Rinzel and Moore..

Rinzel 2 shots on goal..Moore ZERO...I repeat ZERO shots on goal... The always seem to adjust back the shots on goal from the higher shots attempted which are reported during the gane ...so during the game in 3rd period it showed on CHN scoreboard that Rinzel had 5 shots and Moore had 1 shot...but those must have been shots attempted...so the officoal end gane stats for them : 2 shitscon goal for Rinzel and Zero for Moore..

Means Moore generated only 1 shot attempt and missed so that he had Zero shots on goal...

This is our "cannot believe we stole him" pick #19 overall in round one of the 2023 draft? Cannot even muster 1 shotbon goal despite his blazing speed=WTF is wrong with him?

Moore keeps looking like a BUST.

Lardis can obviously find the back of the net. How’s the rest of his game?
Perimeter floater last year. Bad. This year it’s still apparent but he does seem to be attacking the center of the ice much more this season. I’ve watched 4 full games. He’s improved. He has the feet to be a good defensive player but he is so slight he needs to get stronger.

Probably a more offensive winger at the next level. Brantford kinda sucks. Hard to gauge his playmaking ability. Has good offensive instincts. He reminds me a bit of Mike Hoffman.

Lardis has always been Marner-lite to me.
