Hardly weird. People were going a bit overboard and it’s good to stay grounded
Yeah Chesley is quite a bit ahead in terms of defensive impact on the team. I still see a lot of Tyler Myers in Rinzel, he really is a lot more offense first than I realized. Hopefully he rounds out his game as he matures, but he is far from the two way force that he’s made out to be on these boards.

People just naturally get excited when a 6’4 right shot is producing offensively

Pretty confident I’ve watched more of Rinzel than just about everyone on this board

Has nothing to do with his goals or production. Also he’s been a lot better than Chesley.

Nazar 1g 0a 6 shots on goal tonight in Michigan 2-1win over Notre Dame ..zslaggert no pointsctonight 2 shots on goal only..

Nazar though got trounced in the faceoff dot winning only 9/24 draws which is unusual because faceoffs is what he usually excels at .

Moore no points -1 and ZERO shots on goal for Minnesota tonight.

I cannot believe how stinky he has been offensively this season.. Dod we blow tge pick?

I watched the Minnesota game. He isn’t showing up on the sheet but Moore had some moments where he showed off his incredible speed and creativity but he’s a freshman. Hopefully next year he puts it together and those moments become more frequent.

I really agree with people who have given him that cogliano+ comp. He’s gonna give you 50 points and be a headache with his speed. I don’t think that’s a failed mid 1st pick.

Rinzel. Man I’ve watched like 5 Minnesota games and he’s been terrible in al of them. I trust I’m just catching him on his bad days the way people are talking about him.

Stop defending Moorv.eshowing off speed and ZERO shotsvongoal tonight and no points is nothing to laud...Show me the production....they sold him withvso much hype when he "fell" to us...but maybevthe GMs that passed on him knew sonething might not translate to starry offensive success.IF it was merely snake -bit on scoring goals but if he was multiple assisting consistently and driving his line's scoring I woukdcacceot that.. but so few shotsvon goal and not impacting scoring in big ways...and low shot totals,I do not see the hype anywhere near justified..the FACT is he is disapointing.

He had better fix it next season...elsexwe really will be talking big bust .

He was excellent on Friday night. I missed the game tonight so I’ll have to watch the replay. He still has ups and downs as a first year college player. It’s more those period, two period runs where he legit can do whatever he wants that gets you excited.

Great breakout pass, physical in front of the net, one man breakout with his legs, great point shot.

I’m not saying he’s a #1 D tomorrow but he certainly is showing good signs of being a player.

I think Moore is likely a 35-45 point defensive center.

Moore is a freshman and a mid 1st round pick. Give the kid a little time to grow and adjust ffs. With this level of impatience Slaggert would be sacking groceries at Cub foods the way some posters shit on prospects so quickly.

Ok...giving Moorea chance to get more productive as hevmatures from Freshman to later years at college.. BUT it is obvious that if it takes time for him to justify his draft pick position and expected ROI,then that means he ain't going to be 1 and done or 2 and done as so many were saying ...Thus if it takes longer for him to be NHL READY it delays the time line for the supposed climb into playoff contention for the Hawks...IF he had dominated in production to the extent of what a prjected top 6 NHL prospect forvthe team should be producibgbin college THEN we would see a reducedctinekinecas hevprobablybleaves school after Soph year..But after the underwhelming production we have seen from him in Freshman season(so far) we must be realistic...He may take a full Slaggert into SR. Year forc4 years in school not 1 or2 so many had expected for him in their giddiness of him"falling" to us..

I had my reservations when we draftedhim because my eyectest showed avlotvof wasted efforts created by his skating that did not end up with goals scoredby him or his team-mates...A lot ofvexciting rushes but ultimately to no avail on the finish..

Now if it turns out hevis ONLY 3rd line role checkibgvcenter who is occasionally morexexcitingbon rushescthan your normal 3rd line cebter or if hecadaotschiscrilecto 3rd libecshutdown checking center ,yes tgat can help a team...but expectations for him were top 2 linecscorobg cebtervorcwibger..So far he does not look like a scorer of goals or a dynamic line driving spend more time in o-zone thanin neutral a d-zone type..In othercwords hevis not impacting offebse as much as projected for him..
He appears to be justcanitgervguy freshman ...not special as so many were lauding.

Tgerexareclitsvofvfreshmem making much better production impacts to their teams.

So do not raise tge just a freshman excuse...a lot more was expected of Moore...it dies nitvlook lijecwe got a steal at thecdraft in taking him..

But ti be fair...sone kid xblossom later at college ..We shall see how he progresses as a Soph and Jr. And then see if he is 3yr in school guy or needs 4 years there to finally become a star and go to guy...butwe must see sone progress in production. where he is right now is Just Anioher Guy ..

Also...if he fails to add more production his coaches will give go to roles to others coming in from the next freshmen crop of recruits.

Sorry to be so harsh but the facts are the facts and sio far he US disappointing...

It was said of him at the USNTDP that he would be a 1C for them if not for Will Smith being more productive.. So he "only" got a 2C role...
But if he keeps on not producing much Minnesota eventually will drop him down line out of a top six role..

More no show performances like last night in the 6-3 lossvto Penn State where he was-1with no points and ZERO shotsvon goal generated and 5/12 in the dot and he coukd get demotedvoffvactop 2vkibevrole next season byvsone recruit who actualky can produce for Minnesota.

He was notvsuposedvto be justcanitger guy freshman making no difference ..He was exprctedcto STAR.

To this point = Failure....not living upto his hypecandvlaighablevhevusvour 2nd best not in pros prospect ...

Will I give him a chance to reverse the bust tag...sure..But you must admitvtherecarecreak concerns we may have blown thevpick and he busts ..

Moore was also not expecting to be lighting it up as a freshman. He's a speedy 2way guy who had defensive or grind value too.

Logan Cooley was also saying he was staying during the summer and more offense of the team would of been there. Even snuggarud is below ppg vecause they have less offensive skill to go around and put pucks in.

Nazar, Moore, Hayes and Rinzel on the preliminary WJC roster.
Eiserman not even invited, interesting. I imagine if they invited Hagens they plan to bring him, will be interesting to see what kind of role he gets with such a strong forward group.

Rinzel has to beat out Minnetian and Pohlkamp, seems like he has a good chance of that. Hayes seems to have the toughest climb of the three forwards. Nazar at least should be a lock.

I have Hayes as the very bubble Forward (either last to make it or last cut), I wouldn't be surprised if it all comes down to Rutger McGroarty's health for him.

So glad I was wrong about Hayes. He still might not make it due to politics but he absolutely deserves to be on this team.
