I think Arvid has a higher celing. a little bigger and more athletic

Given track record of our Russian picks and the political/war situation at this point it's hard to envision Safonov coming over anytime soon if ever

Our most recent Russians = Kayumov never came over and Alty didn't work out and went back to Russia (I would have liked to have seen him get a couple games with our dumpster fire last year but it never happened)

It stings that we used a 2nd on Kayumov only to see him stay in KHL

There's way too much unprecedented stuff going on with Russia right now for me to be comfortable with the Hawks using a top 5 pick on a Russian.

Hawks need a star 1C not a winger who is just a goal scorer but cannot drive a line like a star center can....so forget Michkov and the wait for him plus any risk he pulls Shslunov and stays back home.
I KEEP SAYaiNH ...IF we do not get Bedard or Fantilli in tje 1-2spoys ..pray we land Will Smith.. who is terrfic..can drive a line ..and gets way too little respect for his incredible production on t draft ranking boards.He is a different kind of center than either Bedard or Fantilli..Does many things so well...He would be a clear #1overall most draft years that did not have a Generational like Bedard or a BIG 200ft power Center with high speed and high scoring ability and physicality on his set of tools like Fantilli...still not sure if Carlsson is going to be a C or a wing in the NHL ..but he probably does not have a 90-100 pts guy ceiling ...Smith does...and as a true Center.

Drew Commesso fails to make seni-finalist list for Mike Richter Award as best goalie in Div 1 NCAA hockey...9 goalies got nominated as semi-finalusts under consideration for the award..

Commesso has only a .909 save%...not as goid as good as his first 2 seasons at B.U. in this his Jr. Season.

Of the 9 goalies making the semi-final list of nominees forvtgexRichter Award,5 are Srs.,2 are Jrs.and 2xare Sophmores ...

Some of these are already drafted by NHL clubs ...but some undrafted Seniors or perhaps undrafted Juniors coukd be targets for nhl clubsxas free agents after thisxseason ...

One such undrafted Sr. Is Notre Dame goalue Ryan Bischel...2 otger Senior undrafted goalies might not get much interest despite their ssve% due to small size=Justin Close (Minnesota) and Blake Pietila'(Michigan Tech)....

Victor Ostman a Jr. goalie with Maine could attract interest of he leaves school after his Jr. Sessom is over.. Hevisx6"4 205lbs.

4 ofthe 9 goalies are akreadyvdrafted by nhl teams.
1 Sophmore goalie is not yet drafted and he coukd Antarctica lot of attention in future when he leaves or is finished school andctgat is Uaniv Perets who is the Quinnipiac goalie ..

But it looks like Biscel of Notre Damemay be the hot free agent goalie from the NCAA to sign by an NHL team this summer.

What a gorgeous end to end rush right up the middle by Ethan DelMastro against London tonight ...alk thecway from behindvhis net leaving a checker in the dust and then skating through the rest of the Knights who coukd notvstop him.....did not score on hisxevebtaknshotvon goal from about 2 feet out after he broke right through..But it left a rebound which was swatted in for a Sarniaxgiak...that play was alk Del Mastro's creation.. World Class..

Maybe the best 4th round steal ever ..justvgetying better and better..

The official scorers did change it and gave Del Mastro anasistvon the Burke goal which was all E.DM's end to end rush causing the rebound for Burke.

So 2A for Del Mastro tonight and 3nd star of the game tonight..they had draft eligible Denver Barkey the London forward as 1st star..

E.DM almost a goal though,at the end with London goalie pulled and he tried a high clear out of d-zone that went out as a POB and so penalty..But Sarnia held on for 3-2 win.

Commesso makes only 17 saves on 29 shotsvon goal...Merrimack goalue makes 38 saves on 39 shots on goal... Boston U. Loses 4-1..And Commesso will be our saviour in goal? Not the way he is playing this season.

Icehogs win 3-2 in OT over Texas...Vlasic 1g +3 ...Regula 1a +2 Reichel 1a but only Even and Zero shots on goal...Reichel not getting off lots of shots on goal and so not many goals since beibg sent back... this ain't progress in development.
