I may be in the minority but I’m all for them shooting Jade to the main roster.

When was the last main roster debut without a stint in NXT? Aj Styles?

Might as well. She’s probably got more star power than most of the womens division. If Nia Jax is safe enough to be on the main roster then Cargill can make it work

Youtube recommended me a short video of Kevin Nash saying Jade Cargill would benefit from having a house show circuit (while still in AEW). She'd get to wrestle more during a week, get more experience, experiment etc. That is now an option for her.

By the way, throwing out a prediction that she'll be ringside at NXT No Mercy this Saturday.

We really are in for months and months of baseless speculation whenever someone calls themselves the "best in the world"

People have been calling themselves the best in the world in wrestling literally forever. I really think it will be a lot of talking about something that just isn't going to happen honestly. I mean what was it 2019? Fox was literally willing to pay Punks contract for WWE and they wouldn't take him for free lol I have a really hard time seeing that having changed that drastically from there.

I don't really think it's happening either and stuff like this is absolutely not a tease. It's a common phrase and some wrestling fans need to touch some grass.

But it's a new guard that cuts the checks now, what the old WWE guard wants or doesn't want doesn't matter as much anymore compared to what the TKO bosses want so it's not impossible.

Not sure if they were the last ones, but Gallows and Anderson went straight to the main roster and that was a few months after Styles debuted.

This is the problem with a lot of AEW's structure. They have young guys signed who need reps and barely work.

I dunno, being bought out seems like a pretty drastic change lol.

Jade Cargill is well known enough that she should be allowed to keep her name and WWE have been pretty good on that since about 2015. I think Samoa Joe was the first wrestler who was allowed to keep the name their best known as.

Kevin Owens would be Kevin Steen if he signed with WWE a year later than he actually did.

They were doing pretty good with that and then randomly changed a bunch of established talent who were already with NXT for a while just for the IP. Changing a name upon signing is one thing, but this was almost disrespectful to the fans.

Off the top of my head: WALTER, Marcel Barthel, Fabian Aichner, Jordan Devlin, Kay Lee Ray, Pete Dunne, Io Shirai, Raul Mendoza. And I'm sure I missed a few. GYV as well, but since they were repackaged, I'll allow it.

They also wanted change Adam Cole's name if he re-signed and went to the main roster.

The history of them changing guys names is pretty simple.

They were doing it right up about until Joe and AJ signed. By that time, NXT was pretty well developed, WWE essentially killed off the indy scene signing up all the big names, and IMPACT was no longer a threat. (If losing their two biggest homegrown stars wasn't an indicator) Because of that, they got a lot more lenient on changing the names of established talent.

Once AEW came around, they started getting super restrictive about it again.

What’s the deal with ROH? Is it ever going to be its own “stand alone” promotion or is it just going to be a reason for 50 different titles in AEW?

Honestly, I think that’s a good opportunity for a NXT-like promotion

It's too bad they scrapped Dark & Elevation, it gave the lower card and young guys a chance to get work in

Sadly, that's what Ring of Honor TV has mostly become over the last month or so. There's been a noticeable and steady decline in match quality there for a bit now.

It’s supposed to be both, which is sort of what NXT became later in the black and gold era. They people who needed work were there, some made it through, but it was eventually a super-indie when competing with NXT.

But it is only available to watch thru their subscription service now right? I don't think they have anyone that I am dying to pay 10 bucks a month to watch

I have it because I enjoy watching matches from previous years (when the app wants to work...).

Samoa Joe, Dalton Castle and Athena are lights out their best performers that are almost exclusively ROH. The Renegades are a good team with a lot of potential and I think that TK needs to stop jobbing them out before they go to NXT.

From a promotion/brand/show standpoint, I suppose you could do it like NXT, but I don't think that really helps these guys get the reps they need. That's something they'd get on house shows, which I don't think AEW does. (Somebody correct me if I'm wrong)

Now, they could do a performance center, but I'd honestly be very concerned about AEW doing any kind of performance center given the talent they have and style they work.

MAYBE if you had Danielson running it once he retires? Billy Gunn did some training at the performance center too.

Something like that is a good idea, but it needs to be more structured with coaches and agents preaching fundamentals and getting better vs trying to show off high spots.

I felt like I saw too many lowlights off the youtube shows of folks trying spots they were not at all ready or experienced enough to pull off and nearly killing someone.

Less matches too. They let too many indie dudes work those shows for free making like 25 match cards.

Focus on your inexperienced contracted workers and let them get reps.

They certainly have enough respected vets that could teach with BD, Gunn, Arn, Jerry Lynn, Tazz, and others, but do they have people willing to listen and learn?
