If Phil comes back it's going to be at the Rumble for a program with Roman at Mania.

With Cody being where he is, that would be an absolute disaster. And for that, I'm out.

Cody-Roman and Gunther-Priest (face) should be the belt matches at WM.

I could see Punk being in the Rumble, but you think they'd have him win it?

That would be part of the deal I think. It shafts Cody big time though, unless they have him go over Phil eventually. You could use Punk's arrival as a huge face to build him up to take the belt from Roman as a springboard to make Cody the monster heel on Smackdown once Roman takes time off.

JD splits into two like NWO red and white, with Priest and Ripley on one end and Balor, Dom, and JD comprising the other, and somehow make Priest's faction the faces in all of that. Priest cashes in Saturday as the heel on a weakened Rollins but have Balor turn on him as your Rumble program. Gunther wins the Chamber and you have him take it from Priest at Mania to set him up for a monster run.

Just spit balling of course.

I believe this was suggested by Brian Last on Corny's show.

To me, if you're gonna do Rock and Roman at Mania, and are still determined Cody is the guy to dethrone Roman, keep the belt on Roman through Mania and then book a PPV at the Garden.

If you want to really "Finish Cody's story" and it's not gonna be Mania, it should be at the Garden, considering the Dusty story.

I think Cody/Roman is all but penciled in for WM40.

I think Gunther vs Gable happens at the Rumble after Gable gets back in the mix. Gable beats Gunther, Gunther enters the Rumble and wins.

Gow do you have Roman vs Cody when Gunther wins the Rumble?

Never mind, totally spaced on the other title Rollins has now

Punk coming back to WWE after Cody in pretty vague terms said Punk was a significant reason why he left AEW will truly be fun to watch unfold.

Well now the rumors have settled that Punk wants back but WWE isn't fully on board yet and he would apparently need to mend bridges (one of them being Roman)

Idk, I'll believe it when Cult of Personality actually hits

the prisoners don’t run the asylum in WWE*, fist fights probably are not something to worry about if he returns. He will have less power, his peers have less power, and Akira Tozawa won’t be mocking him to the cool kids online on the prelims of a PPV

*there is good and bad that comes with the wrestlers having more power- the good being the added creativity and buy-in from the wrestlers in their angles, the bad being the constant backstage BS that we’ve seen on a constant basis for years and the talent having a complete lack of respect for authority. Ultimately it makes for a more appealing onscreen product imo and that’s why I watch AEW and don’t really watch a lot of WWE. The statement is not meant to sewer AEW…just wanted up clarify before the usual suspects get offended by a critique and jump down my throat

He was backstage at Raw for a bit after Brawl Out, wouldn’t shock me if the seeds for a return were planted then

A lot of the top guys that worked with him over there still like him. I know Taker was speaking highly of him recently. I’m sure he’d have some bridges to repair but I don’t think they’re as irreparable as people want to believe. The wrestling business is exactly that…a business. CM Punk return is huge money for WWE.
