People like... me?

I just think a blow up doll is f***ing dumb. I am not some chain wrestling advocate who hates everything more modern/"unrealistic".
I’ve seen plenty of your posts, so yeah pretty much people like you lol. People who think something is dumb if it ain’t what they like.

The whole wrestling thing is ”dumb”, the sole purpose of it is to entertain, it’s has never been realistic and there has been comedic wrestling for as long as it has existed. People just like different things, and it doesn’t make something dumb because you don’t like that.

Wrestling a f***ing blow up doll might be entertaining to some people, but it is objectively stupid.

That’s not what objectively means and you know it, if it entertains people it’s smart cause that is the only purpose wrestling has.

Two guys pretending to beat each other up is ”objectively” just as dumb.

I mean, if that's the angle you want to take, sure. Wrestling is objectively very stupid, especially since they let go of "kayfabe" entirely in the late 80s.

Still, to me, the best wrestling stories have some believability. The best matches, while unrealistic by nature, also feel like a real contest. The flips, the moves and the use of weapons might be totally unrealistic, but I still can lose myself in the story.

When you referred my posts, you were most likely talking about my opinion of the Young Bucks and other performers of the same ilk. My biggest problem is that all of their stories feel fake as f***. They are incredibly goofy, even when trying to be serious. They found their niche and it works for them, good. Their PPV matches are usually can't-miss. Some of their TV stuff is too formulaic for me, but I won't call it "objectively stupid". You still can get into the match and "feel" it. Ironically, I can appreciate most of Orange Cassidy's stuff because you can believe he is who he portrays.

Wrestling a blowout doll? That's a degree of stupid that's a step too far for me. That being said, I have absolutely nothing against Ibushi and would love him in AEW. He is a legit great wrestlers when he wrestles for real.

I mean if I personally saw it on TV the channel would change and probably not turn back. But most of this shit happens at tiny little indie/house shows where the entire goal is to make the live crowd that usually has a lot of kids have fun. It is dumb but also...who gives a f*** if someone is wrestling a doll infront of 500 people if those 500 people are eating it up that is all that really matter in that scenario specifically.

In unsurprising Jay White news...

Jay White lost a Loser Leaves Japan match to Hikuleo as rumors continue to swirl about Switchblade’s impending free agency.

Despite his loss last night, White states he can still wrestle for New Japan Strong in the United States and plans to defeat All Elite Wrestling’s Eddie Kingston at Battle in the Valley on February 18.

Although a comment said this "So he has a match next week. According to what I've read is if he wins, he takes over NJPW Strong with Gedo." so maybe he's not leaving Japan? I don't know, only made the post because I thought this was a step in his rumoured transition to WWE or AEW however maybe there's more going on.

Yeah, this is my opinion as well. Personally, I thought it was funny for 5 seconds and then moved on. I'd use that as my bathroom and concession break if I was there live. But if others are all about it, then who gives a shite what I think?
