I always wondered how MJF can always stay in kayfabe but now I’m thinking that guy is just an ahole. If this isn’t a work then it’s a bad look on him. Fans pay lots of money for these meet and greets.

from today's pwinsider.com:

We have heard from several readers that when he was slated to be at the AEW Fanfest this afternoon in Las Vegas, MJF was seen playing slots at Mandalay Bay instead.

For those who have asked us about reports, initiated at Fightful.com, that MJF has booked a flight out of Vegas for tonight (which would mean he wouldn't appear tomorrow), a source close to the situation confirmed to PWInsider.com that a red-eye flight to Newark, NJ has indeed been booked, but whether he gets on the flight or not remains to be seen.

Obviously, AEW and MJF have quite a bridge to cross before Double or Nothing.

As with all great characters it’s probably just a cartoonish version of himself in real life

Dude doesn’t get paid enough money for being the best heel in the industry and the hottest commodity AEW has and I think he’s had enough. Now would be the time to strong-arm some money away from Tony and that appears to be what he’s doing

They need to pay the man.
He should be a Top 5 highest paid talent in AEW and should be treated as their franchise piece. Given clues Meltzer has given over the last few months, he's probably not even Top 20 highest paid atm

At some point they have to pull the match from the card and announce it. You don’t want to start the show and have a mess to deal with.

Listening to postwrestling, sounds like now that it’s after the PPV that the MJF stuff is not a work. Or at least if it was a work, he’s the only one in on it. The news getting out that he was booked for the flight seems to be the pivot point

I get it from MJF's POV. He has been AEW since day 1 and got himself over as a legit star. You look at the 4 pillars and guys like Darby and Sammy are mid carders at best, but MJF is a top talent.

He sees AEW go out and spend big money to sign these ex-WWE guys while he keeps going out there being one of the best things on Dynamite week to week. Of course he wants a piece of that pie as well as I imagine finally becoming a champion.

I am sure seeing Cody jump ship and get the red carpet rolled out for him only emboldened him too. He thinks if Tony won't pay him, he can get Vince to do it and get booked strong like Cody.

WWE Women’s tag team tournament hasn’t been greenlighted yet. Supposedly they have 4 teams on paper.

I think WWE is setting themselves up to move to Disney in the next TV deal

It’s much more likely he really has no gimmick, and he just is a asshole
Lol. You can find rare videos of him out of character.

And ironically, for the one guy that shits on anybody exposing the business, Cornette is the one guy who has come out and squashed his gimmick, noting repeatedly that he was always professional in MLW.

If the want a Women's tag title, why not just make the NXT women's tag champs into the WWE tag champs and defend them across all 3 brands?

There is barely enough depth in talent for one women's tag titles, let alone two.

They did, but Hunter couldn’t rely on being able to use them because Vince doesn’t book more than a day in advance. That’s one thing that set Sasha off the first time. They had her and Bayley show up in NXT with the titles and then dropped them before they could get to the program.
