Vince McMahon’s mother passed away recently, the service was last week. 101 years old, a year to the day that Vince’s brother died.

Because Nick Khan came in and told them running PPV’s on Sundays was stupid, which is good because he is right.

Thinking about the demographic it probably makes sense. I don't follow the demo's as much as other people but I assume the majority of people watching WWE fall into 2 categories. Little kids or those in their mid 30s', early 40's that watched in the attitude or golden era. I can't imagine a lot of of the crowd that's going out on a Saturday night are watching WWE consistently. Especially now with Covid. A lot of people like me and my significant other where we would have went out with friends previously we just stay in now. Not that I would watch a garbage product like WWE.

They had 39,000 people last night, so people will go. They’re running stadiums for more PPV’s premium live events. The average watcher of WWE is in their late 50’s, but I think it’s more that Saturday night is the sports night unless you’re the NFL to which normal rules don’t apply. Running stadiums makes them more conducive to better attendance, and not have to worry about work the next day

That's a good point. Late 50's? A little concerning for wrestling.

The late 50s number is only the people who watch on traditional cable television. Doesn't include the fans who follow thru Youtube, social media (WWE has something crazy like 15million fans on TikTok), etc. AEW's average age is also higher than you would think. The fact is young people don't watch cable in 2022.

Not true, Nielsen ratings formula has been being adjusted for that and will continue to be for a few years.

Oh ok I didn't know that. I'm surprised AEW's fanbase is so old. I thought it was the hot product that the young kids liked. Guess it's not much different than WWE.

Late 40s- early 50s is still a hell of a lot older than I would have expected for AEW. During the late 90s, I believe WWF was in the early to mid 20s. What can Tony do to attract younger fans?
Produce good television is often the best way. They’ve already seen WWE follow them into running PPV’s on Saturday’s and holiday weekends.

I don't know anyone over 40 that watches wrestling. This is really surprising.
Same here. You go to these shows though and you see them. It was weird the year I went to Brooklyn and met Alexa and got her autograph on my arm and how around the hotel I saw dudes like 20 years older than me in Alexa Bliss shirts that I definitely didn’t see when I met her

There are plenty of us who keep watching with the hopes it will return to the quality of our youth

Sorry I didn't mean to come across as judging. I'm just saying I personally don't anyone over 40 that watches. I would have thought the average would be somewhere in the 20s.

That kind of goes both ways I suppose, as someone in my 40's I don't know anyone under 40 that watches, mainly because I don't associate with many people in their 20's or 30's, my 17 y/o nephew is the only person I can think of off the top of my head

Shane McMahon is booked for the chamber and wrestlemania. But it’s not believed that he has opponents for those shows yet.

Serious question: If you hate the current product WWE is putting out (and it seems like 95% of posters here do) why do you continue to watch?

At the end of the day, we are still fans of professional wrestling and remember a time when the WWE product was actually good and still hope it can return to what it once was. They still have some talent on the roster that they haven't yet released.

I would wager many of us aren't exactly watching as watching recaps via youtube the day after

McMahons getting more screen time -- exactly what they need!

I saw the last half of the Rumble after the Leafs game. Haven't watched anywhere close to that much WWE since the 2020 Rumble. Whatever else they've done, I expected them not to totally mess up what I consider to be their best pay-per-view. I was wrong.
