Classless Evander Kane

How do you not go out for the handshake line?! I hope no one picks up this bum and he is suspended and find. You would think there is some sort of punishment for this.

he was given a misconduct out for the remainder of the game. SO you wanted to have a pissed off guy in the line up? IF he does something stupid in the line up? You post this same thread

No. We shouldn't cheapen traditions like the handshake line. Even if it feels performative or the players hate it, it carries symbolic weight. It reinforces the idea that, despite the intensity of competition, this is still just a game...and at the end of it, we can acknowledge one another with respect.
Are dirty cheating pos who try to win by elbowing goalies accidentally on purpose, purposefully try to injure other players, diving all over the ice and going to the locker room after a hit to try to draw a penalty only to be out the next shift, and antagonizing/trolling the other team to get them off their game instead of just playing a hard game really worthy of the respect that a handshake line represents when their play represents the complete opposite of that?

Douchebags sometimes win in life, often even in sports it seems

Those are questions about hockey. The handshake line is about basic decency.

I'm not going to hold it against someone to not extend basic decency to those who never showed it prior. They are just taking maximum advantage of how the playoffs are refereed as well as favorable reffing. Ultimately it's the NHL's fault including their lack of policies against clear conflicts of interests in the people they hire/allow teams to hire. Colin Campbell.

Couldn't be more ironic that a Leaf's fan felt the need to make a post about the Stanley Cup handshake line in 2025
How did you gather than he's a Leafs fan? His profile picture is of the Penguins and his bio says he's a Penguins fan lol.

Also, news flash, you are allowed to have an opinion and post it here regardless of the team you cheer for.

You seem to be in the minority here, but you're also right. If we're honest with ourselves, one of things most fans love about hockey is its culture of respect. Players kill each other during a series and shake each other's hands when it's done. The handshake line turns these entitled kids into men. In my eyes, it elevates them as athletes and elevates the sport.

How about we dont be a child and recognize that the handshake line has been a part of this sport and its culture for decades. The moment we start to allow sore losers to skip out and not be called out for it, is the moment we are changing the culture of the game.

There wasn't much that happened this series from Florida's side that would make Edmonton all that upset. Some on the line moments, but Kane's slash at the end of game 7 is worse than anything Florida did.

To then not go out in the handshake line after you committed the worst act.... that's a slap in the face of all of the people who have played in the cup final and shook hands afterwards

If I was kicked out of the game I wouldn't go back on the ice to shake hands either after losing either. It would be stupid to do that.

He was given a game misconduct, he was probably out of his uniform. You guys expect Hyman to run on the ice and shake hands as well? Its not like he was sitting on the bench....and even if he was who gives a shit.

Paul Maurice refusing to shake hands after they beat Carolina is a 100 times worse.
