Apparently he was pissing everyone off at the Rumble with how he was being as a producer.

If I were to bet, Shane was probably supposedly being a dick to people because he knew what they were doing sucked. Although I don’t think his ventures into creative ever went well for him.

Brian Kendrick had already been released and agreed to work during his non-compete, that’s why he was able to move companies so quick.

WWE Hall of Fame will be live, after Smackdown on April 1 it n peacock, in the same building, at 10pm Eastern.

WWE is on fire. Record revenue and profits for 2021.

Just doesn't make any sense. The product keeps getting worse but people keep buying it. I might have to go through their 10k at some points and see where the revenue is coming from. Certain metrics like EPS can engineered to look good by net income is usually hard, but not impossible, to window dress.

They found a way to monetize their content. Money from NBC Universal for Peacock to take over their streaming service, money from YouTube and other social media ventures, money from NBC Universal for Raw, money from Fox for SmackDown. The years of 300 day grinds for the wrestlers should be over. Income from live shows compared to income from the previously mentioned sources is peanuts. They proved during 2020 that they could have zero paid attendance and still be profitable. Their earlier profits were driven by live shows and merchandise. Now it's content, content, content. It's impressive, especially given how crappy most of us believe the content has become yet we usually tape it and fast forward through what we don't want to watch. The average age of a WWE viewer per the ratings may be a high number but the average age of the person watching stuff on YouTube and TikTok would be far younger.

These numbers don't mean that WWE is more popular than ever. They have just found more ways of making money.

EDIT: or what @yahhockey said above.

Princes in Saudi Arabia keep buying it. The money they pay Vince to do those shows allows them to do 2 Wrestlemanias for fun.

Here's another thing the Prince bought: Goldberg vs. Roman Reigns

I don't like this recent trend over the last few years where guys can just demand a title shot. Been done with Lesnar, Cena, Sting and Goldberg.

If you're going to bring Goldberg back, why not have someone like Bron Breaker beat him clean?

Because Goldberg is a shit bag and is all about Bill Goldberg. The guy has enough pull backstage to be like "You know what? This probably isn't a good idea" - He should have done that against Wyatt, but didn't.

He's an asshole.

Would be nice for fans to show some balls and boo the hell out of him, then again, they'd pipe in cheers.

So I did take a quick look at their last 10k. The Saudi shows might be keeping their live event revenues healthy but live events account for a small part of their revenues. The LARGE part of their revenue are coming from media deals. It looks like the deals with Fox and NBCUniversal are keeping them profitable.

Now I don't now the full extent of the Saudi deal so I'm assuming that its revenues are being attributed live events but some might be going towards media.

It's odd that with ratings slipping they continue to generate money that way but I guess companies are so starved for content they'll pay for anything.

Just look at what TNT is paying for the NHL and what they’re getting. The ratings for the 10pm games are lower now - with the lead-in being itself - than when AEW was the lead-in.

I can't post in the AEW thread so I'll just post here. I saw on Twitter that Tony had a big announcement for Rampage this past Friday. What exactly was the announcement? I looked, but couldn't find anything.
