Bet you said the same thing after the Williams acquisition or Mitchell signing. Gaborik isn't injury-prone; he's just very unlucky.

Exactly. Some people are only too eager to spread irresponsible rumors.

My main concern with Gabs is whether he'll be playing LW or RW. If I recall, he's a natural RW, who was asked to play on the LW, with limited success.

I have a problem with someone hating on me unprovoked when I directed no opinion of mine towards you.I have a problem with haters in general especially on a site that promotes opinion saying oh I am creating a way of talking to my fellow kings fans on the internet, and good luck, bud.I have a problem with window warriors aka internet thugs who are afraid of an alternet opinion other than their own.so yeah, that's my problem with you buddy.

Since the debate in this thread has been mostly productive I'm not going to blow people up. But what I will say is this: if you have a problem with a post/poster on any board, especially if you feel you're being unfairly blasted, hit that "report post" warning sign in the left box and let the mods do work. I can tell you fans here don't use it enough and then things deteriorate into personal ******** that has no business on this forum, including complaining about mods.

This subforum is pretty unfiltered compared to others and I'd love it to stay that way but when 2/3 of a thread turns into pessimism and personal attacks it gets old. If you repeatedly have issues with one/two posters in particular, just /ignore poster, please, for the love of all that is moderate-able.

Nope, Williams was more of freak accidents, or just plan bad luck. Gabo I View as actually injury prone.

Same as Ales Hemsky.

In the last Six years, Gabo has had Three relatively healthy seasons. That is not very good.

The Jackets are also going to want a nice package for him. The Kings don't have another POS to gamble on an often injured Gabo.

First time there's an argument on the kings board, and I have no part in it... It's a weird feeling.

Stewart has not been in the playoffs with the kings just against them.I love how yet another poster is speaking their opinion in the form of an absolute.face it until stewart was ever on the kings in the playoffs, u have no business stating he won't dominate (your opinion) in the form of an absolute fact.get your ***** together.thank you.

Of course it's my opinion, I wrote it. It seems many others share that opinion. You have some facts that indicate he would suddenly become dominant in the playoffs if Stewart was on the Kings' roster, or is that just your opinion?

Umberger...former Flyer, LW, and 2 way game.

I don't see Columbus moving Umberger though. He is one of their most reliable players and they need a player like him to bring their kids along. I try to catch a period or two of Columbus games from time to time because I enjoy watching Johansen. That kid is going to be a very good NHLer.

True on Umberger. Johansen is very good at all facets of the game.

Yeah, if a guy like Umberger were to be available as a UFA in the off season that type of player would be a perfect fit for the Kings. I still think if the Kings do anything with the LW position prior to the trade deadline it will be for a player like Tlusty or say Mihalek. Dean really can't afford to subtract much from the current roster other than maybe Clifford or Frattin.

The Kings are a little thin on the blue line, and I do think that is Dean's 1st priority. The breakouts from our own zone just aren't good enough to generate speed through the neutral zone and that is going to be a big deal in the playoffs. The Kings can't afford to trade a defenseman without packaging said defenseman in a deal that returns a better defenseman. That's why the posts where folks propose moving a package of Muzzin and Vey for Vanek, or a similar type trade, are just poorly thought out.

It has to be widely know among GM's that Vanek is Minny bound in the off season, I could see St. Louis getting him as a rental looks like they are all in for the cup run this year and they have a good chance. This is the type of scenario that will involve Vanek. We have to many ifs this year for Dean to gamble what it would take to get Vanek here, it ain't happening.

I bet Vanek isn't gonna get signed by minny. Just watch.

It's definitely not a certainty but if I'm a GM (hint: I'm not) that does affect his trade value for me. Also, Vanek's been getting paiiiiid, so I doubt he's willing to take a much smaller contract, and we're gonna be hurting for space. If you know it's a rental with little to no shot for re-signing, then you're willingly giving up not only the assets you use to get then rental but also the rental itself at the end of the year. That, to me, doesn't seem like DL's style, especially when those assets could be used to further plug our holes in the offseason.

i.e.--all thread we've been talking about holes on D, UFAs on D, and a top-6 LW--if we give up our first, a couple of prospects, and maybe a roster player, now we've opened up additional holes to plug not only here but in Manchester. Seems messy, imho.

I still like the Moulson Ehrhoff fit as it addresses both key needs and strengthens our blueline and PP for years to come. I think with the way MM has shown he can clean up garbage he would do well on our team that seems to like to shoot from the perimeter.

Ehrhoff takes pressure off Voynov to produce and maybe he can relax a bit and get it going.

Moulson rides shotgun with Kopitar and Carter cleaning up around the net allowing Brown to play LW with Richards and Williams - this line and their abrasive attitude would draw a lot of penalties

I love the fact our defence for next year has the top 3 locked up long term with RR and Muzzin being signed to the remainder of next season.

I agree with this. I think Vanek care more about being on a winning team then playing in minnesota

Not only that, everyone seems to forget that Minnesota needs some defense, their offense is very good as it is. Their defense, not so much. A lot of their fans don't want Vanek because they even know their problem isn't at offense.

I really like the idea of Tlusty and Sekera. I would offer a package that includes Frattin, Clifford, A-Mart +. They get bigger, we get our D as well as a LW with some skill.

Both Frattin and Tlusty have had disappointing seasons for their respective teams.

I'm going to just come out and say Gaborik is my guess for what Dean does. Look - no one scouts this heavily just for ***** and giggles. If you're going to fly out your assistant GM to scout THREE games, then its because you want some of your top eyes on potential returns. Plus they sent two scouts at least twice in recent memory. It just has to add up to being Gaborik, I think.

True, but were the games when Toffoli/Pearson/Vey were all up here? Who do you think they'd be looking at? What are CBJs team/organizational needs?

I don't think any combination of Monarchs prospects necessarily leads to Gaborik, though I guess he is their most disposable asset and DL has been interested before. I agree that he may be most likely, but I wouldn't be shocked if we're looking at Umberger (also DLs style--has term, gritty, etc.).
