**or compliments
unless they are posturing, it really is starting to sound like the Canucks had no real intention in trading Miller unless they were blown away with an offer. Offer never came and they might just be just as happy to extend him now.

Sounds like nobody wanted Miller as badly as you thought...

Call me crazy, but I think a deal with CAR still makes sense. They have some space (~4M), they can move Gardiner (1yr left @ 4.1M), and a big hole at 2C right now (Necas/Kotkaniemi/Staal, none of which fit well).

They are probably looking at Kadri, since he won't cost assets, but assuming he goes elsewhere, VAN should allow CAR to talk extension with Miller, and if they can get him to agree to one, CAR can send Necas (who is RFA), Morrow (future RHD) and a lotto-protected 2023 1st.

CAR can afford the Miller extension for several years at least before running into any problems because of their excellent cap management on Aho, Teravainen, Pesce and Slavin's contracts, all of which have 2-3 more years on them. Pacioretty and Staal's deals are up after this year, while Miller's is cheap, so they have that space to work with right away.

Makes sense for both teams, no? :help:

How was yours not meant to be flaming?
We just signed Rielly and Giordano and a bunch of LDs to give Sandin a shot. Looks like we are moving Muzzin whi has two years left. Miller has 1 year left and they both make ~5.5m. Nucks need a top 2 d-man no. He's been our #2 for the last 3 years straight.

Can't this be the bases of a trade?

The Canucks already have Hughes and OEL for LD so they don't have a need for Muzzin

Besides that, Miller carries more value than Muzzin

We are stocked to the gills on LHD. Muzzin would be getting 10 minutes a night behind Hughes and OEL.

Muzzin has no where near Millers value. As some of your fans have pointed out, being your #2 doesn't make him a #2 here. We already have at least 2 players that would render Muzzin redundant anyway.

Cap is very tight here already, and Muzzin makes more than Miller, not to mention what ever additions will be included.

Muzzin is older than Miller, and the only reason we're looking to move him and not sign him is because Miller doesn't fit the rest of our core.

Shall I continue?

This fantasy never made sense for the Canes. Time to give it up.

He's good but he's about to be on the wrong side of 30 too. Score over 30g once and over 60 points twice in his career.

What are you expecting for a rental?

Shortened Covid season. He's been over PPG his last 200+ games in Vancouver.

😆
He’s scored at over a point per game average in 3 years with the Canucks and just put up 99 points.
You’re out to lunch on value if you think a 33 year old Muzzin gets you in the conversation.
We will trade you Myers for Nylander though.

He's closer to a 60 point player than a 100 point player.

I dont think anyone's buying him being a 90 or 100 point player moving forward.

Every single hockey insider: Nucks will have a big market for Miller if they move him, a lot of teams are interested

Nucks fans: He's our best player but we're not ready to contend, gotta get value for him

Lol. He hasn’t been a 60 point player in the last three years. He’s an 85 point player even if he steps back a bit from his 99 point season. You’re just embarrassing yourself as you don’t even know the player you’re talking about. Take the L and move on.

He's been higher than a point per game his time with Vancouver, while still being our best all around forward.

I thought you were legitimately confused about how other teams value their players, but you're just another annoying homer pushing absolute garbage players for stars, and wanting to be thanked for the offer. It doesn't matter what we want, you can't afford Miller in any way.

Do you think he is a 90-100 point player moving forward?

I didn't realize he was being hugely overvalued here.

Hugely overvalued?
You claimed he was a 60 point player. You clearly didn’t even research before posting. You’re embarrassing yourself at this point.
He’s a PPG player easily just like the last three years.
I feel like I’m arguing with a brick wall though so I’ll move on.

In 2 of his last 4 years, he has 47 points... your banking his value on the other 2 years, from his career, that skew his numbers?

I mean it’s not like he wasn’t transparent in that regard. It’s like literally right in the name. :sarcasm:
