Japan trounced Zambia earlier today.

England and Haiti in progress at the moment, England is up 1-0.

England
England won 1-0 but weren't at their best. Stanway's retaken penalty the difference after Theus saved the first attempt but was off her line. Haiti were dangerous on the counter and created the best chance from open play which Earps saved.

Dumornay stoodout for Haiti, only 19 and just signed for Lyon apparently.

England missed Williamson's composure and passing out of defence. Kirby's creativity and Mead's goal threat missed too. Bright's first game since March and it showed.

Ended 6-0. Is Morocco's team any good?

It's all relative.

They're 72 in the rankings, but they're in their infancy of being a legit program. Morocco recently invested big time and opened new facilities for men and women like 5-6 years ago.

Their commitment is strong, which is part of the reason they made it this year. They're way more invested than most CAF nations in women's soccer, so in the next few cycles, their development program is probably going to keep improving.

They'll likely be one of the best programs in Africa for the next couple decades.

The ceiling of how good they can be probably isn't a serious WWC contender, but there's no reason they won't be similar to the US Men from 1994-2014: Very consistent with appearances, 50/50 on if they get out of the group, long-shots to advance in the knockout.

Gotcha thanks. Assuming Fifa rankings are no more accurate in the women's game than they are the men's, so wasn't sure what to make of this performance. It's my first time trying to follow the women's game...as there's just too much football already

The USWNT played a sloppy game. They need to play better against the Dutch on Wednesday.

I don't remember the men's world cup having this many clean sheets......so far there's only been one game where both teams have managed to score a goal, the rest are all shutouts....including two that finished 0-0!

South Korea forward Casey Phair made history by becoming the youngest player to make their World Cup debut, at 16 years and 26 days old, as well as the first mixed-heritage player to represent Korea.

Coming on in the 78th minute in the 2-0 defeat to Colombia, the U.S.-born Phair made her presence felt with a number of big challenges as she worked tirelessly to try to get Korea back into the game. But it was another teenager, Colombia's 18-year-old Linda Caicedo, who stole the show as she scored on her World Cup debut.

FIFA rankings are dumb, but they've always been less dumb on the women's side for a couple reasons...

#1 - The women never had a Confederation weight to the formula that overrated everyone in UEFA and CONMEBOL just for being on those continents, and undervalued everyone else, which FIFA finally dropped after 2018.

#2 - For the top women's programs, they play each other a lot more often. They actually just PLAY MORE than the men, period; But the top 20 of the world actually play each other "a lot."

Norway is a world of hurt.

Looks like the players aren't liking the coach and coaches decisions...

They lost the opener, and their midfielder said between games that their backline was too far back and their front line was too far forward and she couldn't connect the two. And the coach benched her for game 2, which was a scoreless draw, so they're last in the group and gonna need some massive help in game 3.

Two more shutouts since I posted that, and unless Canada can figure out a way to produce a goal there's gonna be a third now.

Is it too much to ask for both teams to show up to these games? Come on.

EDIT: Hey look at that, they must've heard me!
