i cant understand why hes still here. system sucks and we are in win now mode. get a real coach
 
Tortorella should have the season and beginning of next year to see how the team plays with a camp and out of the gates. It's depressing that every other talented/skilled team has shined in the shortened season - Chicago, Pittsburgh, Anaheim, Boston...but not us.

If the Rangers don't make the playoffs, Torts has to go. That's unacceptable.

No... no he should not. Kings changed coaches last year due to underperforming
 
You don't pull the ****ing goalie when you're only down one on a POWER PLAY!!! The opposing team Can shoot at the empty net from anywhere on the ice and not have to worry about icing! For **** sakes
 
Even after the 2 wins, I said how I didn't like his system. All of the apologists ran out and told us all that it's perfect.

It's not. "We don't coach offense." It clearly shows. Collapsing defense+no obvious emphasis on odd man situations=FAIL.
 
Id rather see Tortorella and not Gaborik or Richards.

Watch them get moved and return to form.

Especially Gaby.

Oh, please. Other teams know how to pin the other team in their own zone and just drill the puck from every direction. ****, the Devils immediately spring to mind that know how to apply pressure.
 
Torts and Sullivan need to open up the offense, if they don't, they need to be fired immediately. Yes they were successful last year, but last year we had a different group of players and Torts clearly doesn't want to acknowledge that the current system simply does not work with this group of players.

Check the odds of a team tying a game pulling the goalie or going down by 2.. which do you think is greater?

Sure.....Torts system does not work at all with this team. They don't practice offense, only defense/positioning??? lol

And Gaborik??? what a joke of a hockey player.....lol

That's not indicative of how it goes for the league; just reenforces that the Rangers are pathetic when pulling the goalie.

Again, I look at the Devils when the are down a goal and they are ****ing deadly.

Oh, I forgot, this fanbase is allergic to talent. My mistake.

And when we bring talent in, we get a coach who destroys it.

Only in NY.

May be time to switch to the Hawks full-time. Last year was as good as its gonna get for this franchise in recent years. Dont see such a crazy/amazing season happening again for a long time, let alone contending. That was truly a special season.

Yeah that was a bad decision...
 
When your PP system consists of telling the players to "move your feet, be creative" the team won't score much on the PP in today's NHL. They don't do set plays in practice according to the coach. No wonder it's been dismal throughout his tenure.

Now he admits the team doesn't work much on offense in practice. He can only teach defense. What? No break-out practice, etc.?

NJ fired Ftorek with 8 games left in the season and I believe won the cup that year. It's never too late to get rid of a coach who's overstayed his welcome.
 
Fire him. Fire him now. I don't care if this team loses every game under a new one. This team shows no heart no urgency. They are not responding to him period. That's on top of his system being complete and utter ****

It doesn't matter if you have a greater chance of giving up a goal, than tying the game. The only thing that matters is if your chances of tying the game increase when you pull the goalie.

Whether you lose by 1 or 2 or 3 is irrelevant.

As for pulling the goalie with the PP, I am sure it has happened but I can't recall a game when a team down by one on the PP, HASN'T pulled the goalie (unless they are trapped in own end). It is pretty much S.O.P.

Of course they will return to form because they will be FREE from Torts defensive game plan..

Ill go on record And say this. Torts will never win a cup here. You can trade this guy or that guy. Sign this guy or that guy And It won't matter. THE problem is HIM
