I've seen it tossed around quite a bit, but can someone explain to me what Leetch's credentials are to take over this supposed PP Specialist position?

He excelled at the PP?

I honestly think this team has no structure. I think the only thing they have in the back of their minds while out on the PP is "don't do anything that would create a shorthanded chance our I'll feed your sack to my Rottweiler!"

Yep. Sometimes you'd swear that they are just playing a real creative PK out there.

#1 Problem with Torts/Sully is the PP. This is painfully obvious. If the reason why we can't get a PP specialist in here is Torts then it is time for someone to tell him off.

The PP has cost us games in the Reg season and now in the Playoffs.

Bring someone in here to fix this already. I can't for the life of me understand why that isn't a possibility here

Still don't understand how John Moore got taken off the PP and Del Zotto put back on. Still don't understand how Girardi gets time on the PP over McDonagh. Let's not even get started on Torts' singling out Hagelin for being bad on the power play.

MDZ is Torts' love child.

He is immune to all punishment.

mcd and stralman with nash step cally should be first pp unit.. 2nd unit. moore Girardi brass zucc hags

I never did like this train of thought.

Anything is better than what we employ now. ****, Graves would be a God send for this team.

Why?

His bread and butter was parking his ass out in front of the crease. He'd drill that over and over again, and we wouldn't see a player parked behind the net..ON A POWER PLAY!

Honestly, I've made too many jokes like this to even debate it so, sign me up!

We really can't get worse, can we?

You know how bad we are?

Last postseason's pathetic power play was clicking at 17.8%; we are now at 5.6%.

Of all the team's in the playoffs, that's better than the Wild..who didn't even score one PP goal.

Stralman should not be on the powerplay unit. He's not quick enough with his decisions. His shots are not precise enough either.

McD would be an obvious choice but since he's been coached by Torts he's become much more reluctant to shoot in any situation. He used to have an offensive side to him when he first came up. It's no where to be found anymore.

Same with Moore. When he first came here he was shooting the puck much more. Now he is hesitant and by the time he wants to take a shot it'll be blocked.

This system forces our defenders to think defense first. That causes hesitations when they do get a chance to shoot and severely limits their opportunities when they do make up their mind to do something.

Girardi has a hard shot, thing is he's not too good with stick handling, making decisions quickly, or keeping the puck in. Therefore, he's constantly dumping the puck in, or by the time he controls the puck well enough to shoot/decides to shoot, the only lane he has open is to shoot wide and hope for a crazy deflection.

Staal has similar capabilities on the powerplay to Girardi.

Del Zotto is just stupid on the powerplay. He'll hesitate to shoot, then shoot it into the defenseman for the **** of it. He uses minimal common sense.

It would be more beneficial to roll out with 5 forwards, at this point.

And you clearly don't know anything about our team, our coach, and Hagelin. This worked wonders on him in the past. Don't comment on things you know nothing about.

Spend many days yourself in the Rangers' locker room, do you? Unless you're in the room, you're guessing as much as anyone else. Get off your imaginary high horse.

Fire Torts, Sully goes with Torts. Hire Larry Robinson, a true X's and O's guy. Let him put two coaches of his choice on the bench with him.

Though truly, at this point, the Rangers should just sign Leetch to a one year deal, scratch Richards, dress 7D, and send Leetch out there for PPs

Sick and tired of this guy's reactions and responses especially during the playoffs...Its completely pathetic and ridiculous.

Borderline unacceptable. I blame him and his staff for not getting his team ready on the powerplay, dont tell us a player stinks...You have so many players with skill to figure it out

the issue on the PP is we have noone who just shoots the puck, or as many have mentioned walk the blue line.. we miss that Jagr type who can just ripe one timers.. i dont even care we dont score.. its just embarrassing we cant step up and dont even establish shots.. we pass it around and nooone shoots!!!

PP is so easy to do, its not really rocket science and we play well enough 5 on 5 and in all aspects of the game but I mean imagine we had a PP, MY GOD, we def wouldnt have a hard time being a successful team.. Torts has to bring someone in here, Leetch, graves messier we have all the resources bring someone in here that can get this **** going..

Exactly. It worked in the past, it will work again.

Crying wolf the first time is effective.
Crying wolf the hundredth time is not.

Calling guys out publicly is a card that can really only be played once.

Unless your last name is Hagelin or Kreider, you get a ton of "get out of jail free' cards.

Have no confidence in this team under Glen Sather. Get Detroit's last assistant GM.

Obviously not considering Hagelin was flying tonight.

And are you sure you know what crying wolf actually means? It's not like there was no reason to call Hagelin out and he just did it for the sake of it.

John Moore shot the puck, and Torts removed him.

The team was down 0 - 2 to Washington and Torts needed to go, the system was broken, nothing would ever change.

The team won two at home, then dominated game 7. Torts is alright, I guess. The system was adjusted, everyone played harder, etc.

Now the team is down 0 - 2 to Boston and Torts needs to go, the system is broken, nothing will ever change.

Hagelin is rarely on the powerplay. He isn't the problem on the PP. Complaining about a guy having speed on a powerplay that is ineffective because it is completely immobile is borderline insane.

The truth is, some of the favorites on this team (cough, MDZ, Richards, cough) are the ones who stink on the PP and everyone with a pair of eyes can see it. Pointing the finger at a kid who barely has any time on the PP is a 'cry wolf' move.

Torts might as well have dropped a smoke bomb at the press conference and run away.
