Well, when your system is to grind behind the net it's better to only have two people working the boards, and a third looking for the outlet pass when the two grinding in it.
With this Rangers team, I've noticed, that they have two guys grinding away and the third guy is VERY close to the two guys grinding there for support. It leads to a lot of odd man opportunities against when things go wrong.
I believe it would be better, if Torts is insistent on playing this "dump-and-pray" hockey system that the Rangers seem to be playing, is to send two guys to grind, and one guy to float in between the circles if the Rangers win the puck behind the net. Problem is, when the Rangers win the puck behind the net, they seem very keen on keeping it there, or firing it blind to the point.
