Torts needs to go, this system is total *********

the powerplay makes me sick I don't even want to get into that it's absolutely absurd that he can't find a group of guys who can any kind of advantage out of a powerplay

the 6 goalie ******** has got to go, hank is one of the best goalies in the world and he's more than capable of saving a slap shot from the blue, let the goalie make the easy save I understand blocking shots in close and in the slot, but from that far out let him do his damn job. Trying to block every ****ing shot leads to deflections galore and if the shooter has any brain in his head like Ribero and realizes 9 times out of 10 he's gona have to shoot through a defenseman, their going to fake a shot and skate right around the guy on the ice.

If whoever it was just put a stick in the lane and his skate blades towards the shooter he probably woulda hit his skates or been forced outside.


Sick and tired of torts getting out coached or having his system bite him in the ass time after time.

We should draft a decent goalie prospect this year because torts and his ancient system are single handedly gona drive hank out of town.

Not to mention that our wingers constantly dropping to the ice to block shots guarantees they'll never be shooting up the ice for breakaways. One of the reasons our transition game is so slow and awful is because it takes so long for our wingers to get in position to receive breakout passes.
 
Torts needs to go. Now it's on the coach and his staff for sure. No power play ...no offensive system ..with the amount of talent given him we should never cringe when WE have a powerplay not to mention when we have a 5 on three.. for the life of me I can't remember out last 5 on 3 goal..he is a talent destroyer. We have some promising young talent but the kids are afraid to play their game for fear of torts. We need to fire him before players like krieder lose all confidence in themselves....krieder is a perfect example. Krieder saved his ass last year playing his game before torts had a chance to ruin him this year making him into a player he's not. Torts turns race horses into plow horses. His ego will never let him change and because of that he will ruin a lot of young players. For the sake of the team he needs to be shown the door in favor of a coach that will play an attacking style that a young speedy team should play....... this team will never play for him or his coaches

I think the bolded is all complete nonsense. Plenty of young players have come up under him and been successful. Kreider is Kreider's problem. First he needed minutes, then he needed a playmaker, now he needs a new coach. The kid is a prospect - the entire franchise shouldn't bend to him. He needs to learn how to play under whatever kind of coach he's put with. That's what professionals do.

I will say this though, the main problem with this team IMO is that it seems like about 75% of the time the player with the puck has absolutely no idea where his teammates are. That is a huge problem and that's something a coach can/should be able to deal with.
 
Same exact team we were from game 1 this season, different players and all. How much longer does it take to realize it's the system?
 
Can someone tell me the last time a team won the cup when their top forward was based around an elite winger? It's very rare. Maybe the 2007 Ducks around Selanne, but even then he produced much less than Getzlaf in the playoffs.

Do you guys think Rick Nash can lead us to glory? I'm serious here. Perhaps maybe we should look to convert him to center?

This will never happen.

You can't just convert a lifelong winger into a center 8+ years into his career.

I agree this is when the move is made but that's too late. At that point you're adapting to a new system midseason with not much practice time.

4 years and our only set play is the stretch pass. It's embarrassing, we are years behind every team in this league.
 
Stone Age hockey, period. It's the same old story with this head coach and his system.

Watching other teams is like watching a completely different sport.
 
Torts has gotta go, we have so much talent and he just doesnt know what to do with it. We have scoring problems, so slats brings in scorers year after year, nothing changes. We have PP problems, slats brings in PP specialists, still nothing changes. The only thing that hasn't changed is the coach, it's pretty evident that torts is the problem and he's gotta go. I think it's especially important that he goes this off-season so we can have Richards play a year outside of this abysmal offense to see what he actually has left and if he's worth keeping.

I can't remember if it was Ola or BBkers but they said how we play anti-hockey and it's the truth. This team's whole point is to stop the other team. We don't attack unless we've stopped the other team. Everything we do is based off the other team instead of attacking the other team and trying to set a tone.

To make it worse is even with different players we play the same way, expecting players who don't fit that style to play this way. Even worse teams have figured us out. When you're a top team the previous year, teams study you to figure out how to beat us. Well the league has done that and to no surprise Torts hasn't adjusted, which is going to be his undoing.

We have no cohesion, no set plays that work, no powerplay, the penalty kill isnt even all that great, we have nothing. We play slap hockey and change. The players and coaches are satisfied after tying the other team in a period. Every now and then that's okay but in my world the team that scores more goals wins. I'm satisfied when we win, not tie.

People love to blame him for playing a boring, low scoring offense.
I disagree, he won with a lot of firepower in Tampa.

I don't see "boring" and "low-scoring" as being Torts way.
The Rangers are boring and don't score because THEY LACK TALENT.

They have Rick Nash, Ryan Callhan, and Derek Stefan and that's all.
Callahan is more of a grinder.
Brad Richards is washed up. Hagelin has never scored 20 goals.

WHERE is the offensive talent?
Keep in mind we have no real offensive defenseman, Del Zotto is a 40 point assist man.

So please tell me how Torts holds the Rangers offense and team back?
 
Torts is Truly great. The PP today and last game were simply magnificent. He is a way better in game coach than that rookie Oates. The players suck because they do not full understand the anti hockey system and of course should Bear the entire Blame. We won the Nash trade becuz he became such a Huge asset in the Stone Age hockey philosophy. Hank sux because he did not score even a single Goal despite his large amount of ice time.
Umm the apologists were right all along, sorry for ever criticizing the coach or his innovative system, I eat crow

Watch another team in the NHL and how they play and try to ask this question again. Your fingers probably won't be able to type it. And if they still do look at other teams depth charts and see how they match up to ours. If you can still type that you're on your own.
