Recalled/Assigned: All-Encompassing Call-ups Thread (4/29: Thomas, 9 others recalled to NYR)

He was out muscled and needs to put on weight/muscle but the kids got a great shot. Took a few, all of which were ON GOAL.

All ecompassing callups thread (Thomas to NYR, Eminger to NYR, Mashinter to NYR)

Put all call ups and send downs in this thread.

It's time to bring up Michael Haley

This guy is Prust 2.0 something we desperately could use. Haley is a no nonsense heart and soul player that brings the type of energy that could wake even this team up. He's certainly an upgrade over mashinter and i think he may even be better than asham.

Agreed!

Would love to see Haley, haven't been able to watch him much but I like what I hear/read. Mashinter is ok, but he's kind of just there. Another big body that doesn't really play too physically.

If Bickel is going to dress up front then CT should have been kept here just to see what he can do on the PP. We need to find something that works and the kid can shoot the puck. You can see from the few shots he let go the other night that his release and velocity are pretty darn good; the kind of shot that creates rebounds and put backs. Something we do not do on the PP unless the puck hits the back boards and we get lucky.

Honestly with how this team is playing now, I would like to see all three of them back down. This is not a winning environment and Torts is possibly losing the team. The Whale seems like a better developmental scenario right now.

Dont agree with Torts losing the team (yet), but agree on sending them down. Especially Kreider. Play him somewhere. Give him minutes. If Torts is going to **** with him and play Bickel at forward in his place, do the kid a favor and give him top professional minutes. He needs to play.

You know I thought for the most part Torts and the Rangers have done a magnificent job bringing along home grown rookies. Even a guy like Sauer was giving the trust to succeed and was aloud to prove himself. McDonagh, DZ rebounded after being sent down. Etc... I feel like for the first time they are not managing a kid correctly though. And when I say they i mean Torts and the Rangers brass, because its a decision they all have to make.

This. I think they're rushing some players and/or not allowing them to take their lumps. If they make mistakes, they get benched or limited minutes. Or even sent down.

Any one think JT can project to be an Andrew Ladd type ? I love that guy he's tough scores enough and walks the walk

No. I think you are looking at a Brooks Laich/Mike Richards-like upside to him. Ladd is a pure winger, I think Miller will be a center with the way he handles the puck.

I was happy withThomas's performance, but I'm also glad he is going down before a decline.he had s good game and should take the positives out of it.

Agree about their history so far with prospects. I don't think they've done a bad job with anyone prior to Kreider. However Kreider has been different than a lot of the previous prospects brought in to the system. I would hate to see Kreider fall short of his expected role or be forced in to something he isn't. Torts is trying to make him Hagelin. Hagelin is a good player, but I think we all have higher expectations for Kreider.

I doubt Kreider ever becomes as good as Hagelin. Hagelin is on the cusp of being something special IMO. He's proven to be versatile in any role a coach asks him to play in. He is much smarter with and without the puck. His vision, his tenacity and decision making leads me to easily choose him over Kreider.

It's possible, but I hope you are very very wrong.

While he didn't shine, I don't think Thomas looked out of place up here. He's tiny, but he doesn't avoid the dirty areas of the ice. And he reacts quickly.

Totally agree I think he's becoming a Versteeg type player (last year with FLA), with more speed..

Wow, the way this board and people's opinions change quickly.

Let me just ask: Would you have said the same thing before Hagelin was on his little goal/point streak? Did you?

Kreider will easily top Hagelin in the long term. Now, no.
