Recalled/Assigned: All-Encompassing Call-ups Thread (4/29: Thomas, 9 others recalled to NYR)

i hope this is a joke.. bc you sir are stugots!!! haley better then boyle??? at what, fighting?

Most of us on the board with the proper conditioning are better than Boyle. Haley is better with the puck in all zones; he's tougher and brings more jam and energy. Boyle is bigger and better at faceoffs. Haven't seen enough of Haley to know if he is better than BB without the puck although that isn't a tall task.

then why arent you on the Rangers  Boyle sucks but to says that the fans would be better NHL players than him is funny.

Send down Miller for a White. He Will be back for playoff duty
Trade one of Gilroy or Eminger asap ( or waive if no trade is possible) for 7th rounder in order to Free up a roster spot - #48
Sign Zuccarello 2 year 1,5 m deal - spot #49
Sign Dekeyser or Sustr ( probably having to burn a contract year now though) - spot #50
Maybe Trade Taylor Pyatt to Phoenix for Rafi Torres for some grit
Await the trade deadline to see what interesting can come along then. Do not go crazy if prices then escalate out of control... adress teams needs (grit, depth, PPQB) with trading prospects/picks and not taking on Contract years or money. Rental(s) is probably the Word.
No?

Kreider - Richards - Gaborik
Hagelin - Stepan - Nash
Zuccarello - Boyle - Callahan
Powell/Asham - Halpern - Torres

McD - Girardi
MDZ - Stralman
Hamrlik - One of remaining Eminger\Gilroy
Bickel

Staal also then slots in nicely When healthy

I'm a huge fan of this. I feel like this is exactly what we should do at the deadline. Cally on the third line is fine, because it lets Torts run out three lines. I would keep up Miller though, he plays a tough game and is pretty effective. Perhaps you can scratch Halpern and but Boyle at the 4C, and then have Miller center Callahan and Zuccs

Also @ChrisKreider added that he misses lockering next to @StuBickel "He took care of things for me..looked forward 2 seeing him every day"

I find this comment to be grossly inaccurate.

Sounds like Bickel is a hitman. "He 'took care of things' for me."

Let's hope CK is more assertive this time around. He'll need to be if he wants to stay up.

Gross. That's not good news for Miller I'm assuming then.

I think it's more about Halpern being waived than a potential Miller injury. I assume they were looking to try Kreider - Newbury - Miller as the third line (due to the Kreider - Newbury chemistry), with Boyle moving down to the 4th.

Was hoping Halpern was being waived for a different reason.

Ugh. Talked about how much I would like it to never see Newbury again yesterday.

Look who comes knocking....

 why... he is our 3rd line center if Boyle is on the 4th :amazed:

they should have called Thomas back up or Haley :shakehead

Yeah that's not a good move. Halpern > Newbury

Bleh to Newbury.

But if we're still working off the assumption that the Halpern move was made to clear a contract, then perhaps we should be further assuming that the Newbury call up is to fill a forward slot pending the subsequent transaction. If the subsequent transaction(s) involve minor leaguers and/or college FAs he may even be here for a few games.

Um, I'm not assuming too much, am I...?

Because in all the games I've seen him play, he's just the least effective player ever. He doesn't do anything good or really bad. Just there.

Until I see something else I have assume this is it. At this point it's a bad move.

I understand the criticism of Newbury however id much rather have newbury in between the 2 kids than boyle. At least newbury has had chemistry with both in the ahl
