Recalled/Assigned: All-Encompassing Call-ups Thread (4/29: Thomas, 9 others recalled to NYR)

CK should go balls to the Walls out on every shift next game, You know Torts are gonna be impatience and watching him like an eagle..

This exactly. As much as you guys don't like Boyle that third line makes sense. A defensively responsible center with two rookie wings. Boyle has looked better lately, if Kreider can come in with confidence that can be a good third line.

Agreed, I wouldn't mind seeing this at all to start off. I'd like to see if Miller and Kreider can get something going, and having Boyle as a defensive presence helps on a line with two rookies. If Kreider takes off (and I have faith that he will) I would really like to see the Hagelin-Stepan-Nash line reunited and then go Kreider-Richards-Gaborik. That leaves Miller and Callahan for a potentialy deadly third line (would love to trade for a solid LW with some scoring ability), and a return by Boyle to his rightful place as 4th C.

But I may be getting ahead of myself a bit...

Any chance Thomas gets called up when Boyle gets dealt? Thomas would help by getting the puck on net and not shooting wide.

I think the transition of our team to one that fights less has a huge factor in this. Asham is not as good defensively but he has a much greater offensive touch. He's also a right handed shot. Additionally, he has a lot more experience than Haley and is probably a greater locker room presence.

I like Haley more (on the ice) but I see why this move was made.

I think Haley did well for himself, he will be back

I hope to see Nash and kreider at some point. If CK plays as good as i think he will this time around id love to see a nash-stepan-kreider line a few times

I think so too. I hope to see him back as well.

So...we could still lose Haley on Waivers according to what was posted above ??? Geesh...that would be hard to swallow especially when he brings more than Pyatt/Bickel/Asham and probably Boyle and most likely who probably will play 1 game and miss another 15 . He might not have any points ...however...the other teams D...knew when he was on the ice .

In time...Haley would have helped us and he could be a valuable piece come playoff time . Remember...Ottawa physically took the best out of us in the first round and BB has not been the same player since the beat down by Ottawa .

The team is too soft...hate to sound like a broken record...but it will be proven once again in the playoffs if we make them and in the games down the stretch .

Haley was nothing, but a spare part and one this team in need of scoring didn't need. This move should have happened awhile ago. The only thing is that Torts actually has to play Kreider in a significant role to make the call up a good thing for his progress.

If Torts sits him on the bench for one mistake it will be a useless move. Gotta let the kids play and not make them scared to make a mistake.

Bingo. People forget that Stepan and kreider had great chemistry in the playoffs. Se havent seen them together at all which is a crime. hopefully this time we will see more of them. Also Kreider NEEDS PP time. In hartford he was scoring a lot of PP goals by parking himself in front of the net and knocking in rebounds

Well, Kreider and Steps did have chemistry last year, but Hageli-Stepan combo has been so good this year. Why break up a good thing? The first two lines looked good last night, I say keep them together.

I know Boyle isn't an offensively skilled player by any stretch of the imagination, but personally, I think as long as he moves his feet and can consistently play the way he's played after being a healthy scratch, then him centering Kreider and Miller can work. It won't be as good as if Stepan were centering the line, but we can't have Stepan centering every line. Boyle at C is the better option for that line, than Pyatt on the wing is. Boyle>Pyatt simply because of his faceoffs and defensive play possibly helping to cover rookie gaffes that Miller and Kreider will inevitably make.

more useful than Bickel yet Bickel is still on the team.. :shakehead:help:

I say go for broke with Kreider. The last thing I wanna see is stone hands Boyle centering him. Put him with someone that can feed him the puck. I'd go with this:

Kreider - Stepan - Nash
Hagelin - Richards - Gaborik
Miller - Boyle - Callahan
Pyatt/Asham - Halpern - Powe

CK deserved the callup.

Haley in no way deserved the demotion. In his limited time he made some noise. Even created scoring chances. Haley is a better player than Pickels.

the last thing i want to see is Boyle on this team after the trade deadline..

This lineup is amazing. It will never happen though. Gaborik back on the RW? Ha!

Kreider will be on the third line with Boyle and Miller tomorrow. You can take these lines to the bank:

Gaborik - Richards - Nash
Hagelin - Stepan - Callahan
Kreider - Boyle - Miller
Pyatt - Halpern - Powe

Kreider will make a small mistake in the first period, and be relegated to spot shifts on the fourth line the rest of the night.

Those lines look good to me.

Not happy about Haley going down. Excited to see what Kreider can do this time around; I'll reserve judgment on this decision though.

I like it.. and if we pick up a bottom 6 guy at deadline even better
