I may have missed something but is there a storyline reason that Guevara is not in this JAS feud? I don't remember him being a part of that turn at all or his exit from Inner Circle.

Always thought Jericho vs Guevara was the obvious feud coming out of an Inner Circle break up.

IIRC he became frustrated by the fighting between Jericho/LAX and more or less said he was leaving. Had him focus on the TNT belt. Probably could have done more with it.

Sammy did walk away before the whole thing blew up for good. The one that seems to be in a little bit of limbo is The Pinnacle. FTR was last seen rolling their eyes at MJF and saying they did not want to get in the middle of his problem with Wardlow. And now are on a huge babyface run.

On some interview I saw MJF was asked about the whole FTR thing and they were in the background and pretty chummy, so clearly not kayfabe.

Page has had a very forgetful reign. Feel like the title been at least 2nd or 3rd fiddle at any time to whatever MJF, Jericho and the UE were doing.

The Punk feud, if you even wanna call it that, pretty much came out of nowhere and feels rushed.

I don’t know exactly how or whatever but I kinda feel like it hurt Page that Kenny disappeared immediately after the title switch. Like their feud ended abruptly and you’re left standing there with a new champ and the vibe is kinda “well what the hell do we do now?”

This is why I think Punk will win. I do think he will then lose it to MJF at some point.

50 minutes, I can't wait.

I don’t think MJF will win the title until he signs a new contract.

With how much MJF tries to stay in character, who knows what the true stuff going on is. With that said, I wouldn't be shocked if that's their big storyline for 2024.

I agree it’s been rather forgetful, but yet Khan said something along the lines of it’s the best reign in AEW yet. I get “what else is he gonna say”, but I found that laughable.

I think it’s really simple. Bad booking. It’s fine Kenny is on hiatus or whatever the hell is going on there. Page has just been booked poorly or they’ve done the builds poorly or both.

I think Punk will win it too.

The great irony is wrestling by and large is an bunch of fighters and a bunch of wizards and Jericho is pushing himself as a wizard despite not being that.

Wardlow/MJF have carried this PPV cycle.

Outside of that, not all that hyped for DoN. Unlike the last 3 AEW PPV's that felt like can't miss shows, this card feels extremely flat to me. Maybe just got spoiled on the last few PPVs since All Out.

also this is now the second PPV in a row Darby doesn't have a real match (I'm sure some multi man something will get added last second; exactly what happened at Revolution). Tired of NXT wash outs taking priority over Darby.

This is an awfully big card, I'm thinking someone's getting squashed and it's probably it's MJF.

They absolutely could have done more with it. However, Sammy got over without the need for the Jericho rub. There's still always a chance they go back to it if needed, but I don't think Sammy's current status would be any higher had he gone over Jericho.

Good call. Goes perfectly with his current gimmick, and touting the WWE company lines.
