Haha, assuming you are talking about my thread:

http://hfboards.mandatory.com/showthread.php?t=2180035

These were the offers so far as of a few days ago, just from fans of other teams.
Torey Krug - NYR - 1st 2017 (submitted by Savant)
Torey Krug - OTT - 1st 2018, Curtis Lazar, Mark Borowiecki (submitted by SensNation)
Torey Krug - TOR- 1st 2017 (protected), Kapanen (submitted by Pi)

Haven't updated it in a bit, but it's fairly amusing.

What is fairly amusing about it ?......

Youngish controlled PMD for a reasonable hit? If the Bruins made Krug available he'd easily net a 1st round pick ++

He's criminally underrated on this board.
For years this board had been clamoring for a puck moving defenseman, an elusive commodity in today's market. Now we have one, a good one at that, and a minority want him gone.

One of them ( Don ) came up with a proposal for trading Krug for Zach Kassian

Krug is playing top pairing minutes. He's more than "just" a top 4 D. 22+ minutes per night is in top 2-3 territory and this is on a team that has been very solid defensively. He's a big part of why the Bruins possession numbers have been so good this year.

Hell baby
Wow those were some awful Krug takes on the last page.

I'm glad the majority seem to realize he's a very good player

I really don't think this team is looking to add at this point. We have 7 D-men that will likely be in a spoked B next year if one isn't plucked by Vegas. We have 10 forwards that will likely be back next year unless Vegas takes one.

My guess and this is purely speculation. B's are looking to remove 2 D from the picture to make room for McAvoy next year. I also think they are looking to add a winger as we won't have 2 rookies playing at the forward position opening night.

People, people make any civil debate you want but for the love of all that is holy dont offer up the Main Board to solidify any position.

I beg you.

Its like asking a monkey to pick the lottery numbers.

Who are the 7 D and 10 F?

I count;

Forwards
----------

1.) Bergeron
2.) Marchand
3.) Backes
4.) Krejci
5.) Pastrnak
6.) Vatrano
7.) Nash
8.) Belesky

(I wouldn't bring back any of the rest. Waive or buy out Hayes. I wouldn't qualify Czarnik, Schaller. I wouldn't even qualify Spooner but we should be able to trade him, or hope Vegas takes him. If Belesky doesn't find his game soon, he could be a buy-out candidate as well )

Defense
---------

1.) Chara
2.) Carlo
3.) McQuaid
4.) Killer
5.) Chiller
6.) Krug

(that's it. You'd have to qualify Morrow to bring him back and I'm not so sure we do that)

Plus we will lose one of those guys to Vegas.

Krug is a gamer. Very good puck skills. Same ole hammerheads underrating him here. Grass is always greener. If Krug were on another team those same fans would be offering multiple 1sts

Morrow on D makes 7, while you might let him walk, I don't think our GM will do that. Hayes is part of this team next season as of right now, and Spooner will be qualified.

Whether YOU would bring them back is inconsequential.

Czarnik is likely to be qualified, as is Schaller. Morrow is 50/50 but might get qualified just to give LV another option to pick from. I'd take him over either of McQuaid or Kevan but that's also inconsequential.

Why buy out Hayes and the left-over cap hit for two seasons, when you can just bury him in the minors and eat it for one season with only the overage on the cap for 2017-18. Don't forget Seidenberg's cap hit rises by about a million for next season. How many buy-outs can they afford? You can be certain JJ despises paying guys to NOT play for the Bruins. I can't see him allowing a Belesky buy-out. And really why bother yet? It's not like Boston is in a position to go shopping on July 1st.

So that leaves:

Bergeron
Marchand
Pastrnak
Vatrano
Krejci
Backes
Belesky
Spooner
Nash
Schaller
Hayes
Czarnik

Chara
Carlo
Krug
Kevan
McQuaid
Colin
Morrow

I'll just go ahead an assume LV has zero interest in Subban or Khudobin. I'll also assume Schaller will hit the 70 games-played plateau (he needs 8 more games) to meet the exposure criteria.

Carlo, Vatrano, and Czarnik are exempt.

And you can be almost certain Boston will protect Bergeron, Marchand, Pastrnak, Krejci, Backes, Chara, and Krug.

Meaning LV will likely choose one of.

Spooner/Schaller/Nash/Hayes/Belesky/Colin/Kevan/Morrow/McQuaid. Obviously at least 2 of these F and 1 D will be protected.

Leaving Boston with either 11 F and 7 D, or 12 F and 6 D. Toss Hayes to the minors and your still at 10/7 or 11/6.

Not much room, and we will have short term capspace to spend. Add in the likelihood of carrying 1 new elc up front and one on the backend to enter the year. Someone has to go.

Agree, not much room at the inn.

My gut instinct tells me Ryan Spooner isn't in Boston to start next season, one way or another.

I think that depends on who is coaching this team going into the off-season.

I agree it most likely will have an impact.

That being said, most NHL coaches are going to demand better defensive play from Spooner if he wants to play center. That's not Claude-exclusive.

Whether Spooner thinks that or not is a different story.

Exactly, every coach expects players to play defence, no exceptions. I don't know what it is about Spooner, some games he is a no show and others he is lights out, when he is lights out he is really good. I like his game when he is on but he has had enough time to become a consistent player but has not yet.
