Doesn't Vrbata have a weird bonus structure to his contract? The further a team gets into the playoffs he gets a pretty big bonus that adds onto the cap for next year? If so, I wouldn't want to deal with that if I were the Bruins.

CONTRACT NOTE: If Vrbata plays 30 games $500,000 in bonuses. If he reaches 20 goals or 40 points he’ll earn another $500,000. Also can add up to 1,250,000 more in play-off performance bonuses

I fear the Habs now...

 No Kidding.

If it was joel OTTo in his prime and jamie BENN then I'd be worried.

Instead it's crappy old Steve Ott and Jordie Benn so I'm good.

His two best career years were in the middle of his Phoenix contract and the first year he signed in Vancouver, so no.

So, I watched him in Vancouver go through the motions and play like he was playing MobileStrike between shifts.

Vrbata would be hated by Bruins fans regarding his effort and drive.

Proportionally I mean -- not a big enough upgrade just a patch. Vrbata on the other hand is an actual upgrade for the top 6 so I'd be OK with that if it's a cheap price.

This year is more the year for bandaid rentals but last year makes me want them to sell off Liles at minimum.

I'm not so sure about that.

Pastrnak, no.

Backes... questionable. Since Cassidy took over, the top 6 has been pretty solid. I'd be hesitant to mess with that. Vrbata for Hayes (positionally, not value), I'd take that, but only on the cheap.

Yes, but if they retain Liles as well, then my guess Chiller becomes the odd man out. Do you really want to do this again? They did it last year with Miller. I think he has earned his role.

I love C Miller, why do the Bruins not love him so?

Kid can skate shoot and play D as we saw yesterday, I just don't get it?

I agree, I like the way the D has played. Keep one of Liles/Morrow, move the other and if you need depth bring back O'Gara for a look. They have a good group of forwards, some tweaking and they would be very good up front.

Same. Love him as the future #3-4 in Boston as the 2nd pairing RHD. Last night was a perfect example of his skills:

1. Goal after jumping up in the play.
2. Great breakout passes.
3. Great clean hit.
4. Carrying the puck out of trouble.

This kid is turning a corner in Boston.
