We could get Crosby and it still wouldn't fix this team.
Between the FO, Chia and Clode. There seems to be ripple between all three. They can't get on the same page. Between drafting, to prospects in Prov, to up here. You can tell. Its all combined to what we see now. Its been brewing for awhile.
This is sooo right-on the money that's it's scary. You hit the nail on the head, I think many of us here have been thinking this but were hoping that they can get together and make great decisions when it comes to the important ones. Just because Chia said that he wanted the team to get faster does that mean that Clode is going to just do it? Chia's given Clode all of the power to decide on team strategy and philosophy and he can't just change course overnight especially with CJ who doesn't appear to care for the faster players. He'd need to can him and find a coach who can transition the team to a new methodology. The thing is that the players they have seem for the most part to be in no mans land. They don't look to all be on the same page, and some aren't even sure what to do out there. It seems like the only way to implement any change is to clear out as much of the deadwood as possible without losing too much of the leadership. Is there such a thing as a fast/heavy team? PC doesn't seem to have a clue as to the next step, he's so confused about the cap and the way he overpaid players that don't hold much value outside the organization that he's in a state of limbo. "Evaluating" is the word that he/we use but actually he looks to be stuck with no answers. I don't know, did he really think that other teams were going to break down the doors looking to acquire the likes of Soupy, Marchy, Kelly etc? He's really gotten himself and the Bruin's into a dilemma. If he sells off whatever he can, can he rely on his scouts to rebuild the team? Can Clode J. evolve his system into a disparate one that is unique enough to compete? Peter placed too much trust into the players, and Clode's hands and now the results are muddled. He believed in Clode to the nth degree and now he's seeing that his system has huge cracks, that Clode is human and even with a few additions he too also may be out of answers.
Dougie is in his second year.
SECOND YEAR.
second-year.
Really don't know how many times I can say it (nicely). He's 21 years old. If you don't think he's going to be a good one, I don't know what to tell you.
Third year, but I do agree with you. I think at this point he needs to get mean and not worry so much about the offensive side of the puck. He needs to settle down and stay at home, let the likes of Torey etc. think about offense. Back to basics. D'men generally don't peak until their mid to late twenty's so I think that we all need to turn a blind eye to the occasional bad game from him.
Well respected Blues media guy. I wonder if it involves us:
Hmmm, I wonder. It may not even be with the B's... so
