kreider or palmieri for me.

in the next tier, i'd have granlund (although his cap hit and his pass-first mentality may not
be what we need), toffoli, and craig smith (i think he's a sneaky under the radar add that
boston's analytics guys would like).

white whale is josh anderson but i don't see sweeney giving up debrusk.

What about Pageau? I don't know how much wing he's played, but the rest of his resume is pretty impressive. Good two-way player, hits, steps up the offense in the playoffs...

Thoughts on JT Miller in Vancouver?

Close to same age as Kreider. Averages 22 goals per season (Kreider averages 24), signed for 3 more seasons after this one at 5.25m.

I only mention because I’ve read comments about acquiring and signing Kreider here. I assume Kreider will seek Kevin Hayes money (7m+). If so, would it be wiser to acquire someone like JT Miller?

Why does Vancouver move him?
They don't, Vancouver could win the west, at least make a deep playoff run. I think they are adding not moving players out

I have no problem giving up a 1st for a rental.

Everyone complains about giving one up in 2018 but we picked Axel Andersson, Jakub Lauko and Curtis Hall in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounds, so we still ended up with three promising prospects.

I don't either, but Sweeney seems to be a draft and develop guy at his core and he was very vocal about how it pained him to be without a 1st rounder in 2018. I do hope he realizes how close the older core ( Marchand, Bergeron, Krejci, Rask, Chara ) is to finally winning their elusive 2nd Cup and that their legacies will feel sort of incomplete without it.

pageau doesn't really move the needle for me. i would say he's better than no move, but he's
not high up on my own list. i haven't seen enough of him at wing to say if he'd be helpful there
(i don't know how much - if any - wing he's played), but i've seen enough of coyle to know
he's better at center. if we needed a 3C, he'd be my guy, but we don't. i feel like he'd be a
good fit for the islanders or oilers.

I don't want to trade a 1st unless it's Palmeiri.

I would give up just about any prospect in the right deal but not a 1st. The Bruins need to start stocking up now for the post-Bergeron/Krejci era and anyone they pick probably won't be ready for 3-4 year. I'd rather give up the guys who are NHL-ready, since there are no real spots on the roster anyway. Everyone if falling in love with Lauzon but I think he was being showcased and I'd trade him for the right deal (including Pageau or Toffoli).

I don't know, I think they've laid most of the groundwork for life after Chara/Bergeron/Krejci already. In four years...

Marsh - Studknicka - Pasta
DeBrusk - Coyle - Bjork
Lauko - Frederic - Hall
X: Kuhlman, Senyshyn, Steen, (Beecher should be in his second year in Providence)

Vaak - Mac
Gryz - Carlo
Lauzon - Clifton
X: Zboril, Andersson, Berglund

Keyser, Swayman, Vladar

To say nothing of the 4 drafts between now and then. Maybe they get another Carlo or Studnicka in one of the 2nd rounds.

2020 cup go big:Moore to Chicago for 3rd and 6th
Heinen Zboril 3rd and 6th for Palmieri
Senyshyn 2nd JFK for Kreider 50% retained
Works for our cap. I would add B- prospect to each deal To make it work

Move miller for what? Love the guy excited he coming back but until his has some games under his belt he is damaged goods.

Who’s this Miller guy? Hearing a lot that he’s tough...we could use that.

Ehh. I feel bad for DS...he’s gotta make a significant move, but the smart play would be to do what he did last year all over again. A thrifty move that gives this team what they need to compete but refuses to get taken in the process.

Going all in on this tired, slump prone, bunch is setting money and assets on fire. Yeah, they’re so close, but so far. Next year should be the Chara going away tour and win or die run. A one and done in the playoffs might give Boston it’s best shot at a Cup...in 2021. A tough call DS probably won’t be able to make.

You'd need to find a LW for Krejci and Toffoli then, that's the only problem. You'd have cap space though, so maybe a guy like Kreider or Zucker

Marchand - Bergeron - Pastrnak
Kreider/Zucker - Krejci - Toffoli
DeBrusk - Coyle - Bjork

^Not a bad top 9
That is very solid, wonder if we could get Tuch instead of Toffoli, but if we get rid of Backes in that deal I am good with Toffoli.

Kreider might be the target but gorton no way will back off from a first round pick. He got that for Rick nash and he will surely get for kreider . Donny probably won't budge on that.
I wonder if Zucker could be had for less than Kreider, if the Rangers won't budge on getting a first and we can get Zucker for less ,than I would go that direction and still go for a #2 RW. While at it add toughness with Clifford and Foligno for the 4th line to replace Nordstrom and Wagner and add Boro for the bottom pair D.

I think at present Miller has negative value so why trade him . UFA this summer and has not played a game in a year. Just keep him as an extra if the Cap allows. Why would any team be interested in him at present?
He will probably be waived to AHL

This draft is very deep though, even where the B's will pick you get a very good player, not moving the 1st at all and I think that is Sweeney's plan also.

If we can pull that off I would be surprised, but also super happy.
